Maybe it would be more accurate to state that your mind is and once was…I am certain that there are a host of others who are/were/will be what one might perceive in this time/space as ‘historical’ figures. There is a consciousness that is collective that exists alongside the human sphere into and out of which humans are able to both draw and to deposit data - including the experience that might be termed ‘simultaneous existence’. (As a more recent ‘historical’ example, Nikola Tesla was well aware of this reality.)
If one regards existence as being simultaneous, then every moment occurs within a human heartbeat and everything that ‘is, was, and shall be’ is available to universal mind. It may be an error (in this respect) to formulate a timeline of personalities (whether known or unknown within human history) that aligns with who one might think (or feel) s/he was. It is precisely this type of thought process that bars the way to evolutionary processes within the realm that matters most, which is the heart/mind connection - those neural pathways within the human system that are able to connect to collective in a way that goes beyond time, space and physical forms of communication.
It is likely that a number of psychological aberrations are a direct symptom of such thought processes…
What is important (and please do not confuse the following with ‘New Age’ ideology - as with all corruptions intended to distract and confuse, a truth is most often - if not always - distorted in order to delay understanding and deceive the senses)…What is important is to be in the moment - to acknowledge ‘who’ you are at this point in time. It is important to allow oneself to discover one’s shadow self and so to integrate it - the who we are now - in much the same way that it is important (when we come into a realisation) to integrate other existences within oneself - without the use of ‘name-tags’ or linear association with historical personaes.
Very often, those existing simultaneously with a very powerfully energetic personae will need to integrate and thereafter fully release the other - so that the self becomes integral to the whole.
For instance, I wonder whether you might find it understandable, possible and acceptable (at this time) to discount the ‘historical’ personae of Hippocrates and simply draw upon the mind of Hippocrates. That is, the knowledge, the sense, of the ‘mind’ of Hippocrates, instead of stating that you were (or are) Hippocrates…
