Soul Talk

Quote:To start us off – here is a curious soul story. There is a woman who leads women-only sweat lodge ceremonies that I attend. “Dana” has several daughters and I remember when I met “Libby” because I’d not been aware that Dana had a teenager. Libby was 16.

Although I attended sweats at Dana’s home at least once or twice a month, I didn’t see Libby again for six months. The next time I saw her, it seemed clear that she didn’t remember meeting me but it wasn’t clear why she acted so strangely when I greeted her. I chalked it up to ‘teenage ways’ but later saw Dana and daughter Libby having a very intense discussion. I knew Libby had some challenging health issues so when her mother and I were alone, I asked, “Is Libby okay?”

Dana said, “She will be. She just got freaked out when she saw you because she sees you out here all the time and she thought you were a ghost, didn’t realize you are someone who is alive right now.”

Okay, that is not something anyone has ever said to me before!

Dana explained that our souls are very big, that it’s actually difficult for our souls to stay cramped up in these tiny bodies so it’s very common for our souls to take trips, visit other places and people, and that sometimes when our souls do this, we (or our soul-bodies) are seen by others. Really?

I asked what time of day Libby saw me (my soul-body) because I wanted to know if it was a time when I was asleep or awake. According to Dana, your soul can be in more than one place at a time so it doesn’t matter if you are awake or asleep. I said, “So, you are saying that I could be at work and someone could see me walking around your yard even though as far as I know, I’m at work and only at work.” Dana said that is so.

Okay ... is [/i][/b]it so? It is for Dana and Libby. I don’t discount it, but at first it was freaky, and uncomfortable, to think parts of me were wandering around without my conscious knowledge.  On the other hand, I do believe that I 'travel' when I dream so why not 'travel' when I'm awake.

A monk/teacher of mine once explained to me that you can view the soul as something that can be separated into more parts of itself. It's why you can be one place, and also be somewhere else having a conversation with someone.

He said that a french man he knew saw a soul of his all the way in Paris and even had a long conversation with him, but then he suddenly disappeared and the french man wondered where he went! XD The french man later told my teacher about it and they had a good laugh.

My mom similarly saw him standing next to her in the temple while he was actually in another part talking with some visitors.

xanthas, I found the Drum Ensemble video on the internet and sent the link to several friends. They’ve enjoyed it. It’s just so different from anything I’ve seen.
Also enjoyed what you wrote about the soul journey. Sounds like you’ve experience walking the soul path. A big yes to this part too: “...eventually, the path is no longer just dark and obscure, but becomes filled with more lucidity and clarity ... more focused and maybe even filled with purpose.”

Purplepebble, nice music! Thanks for sharing!

Noblesy, great story. Enjoyed reading it. Have heard things like that. One time when I was studying with alternative medicine doctor (my teacher), she started laughing. She said, “You think all we’re doing right now is talking. Right?” I said sometime brilliant like, “Erm, well, um ... ah ... you don’t[/i] [/b]think that???” She said our souls are always communicating, on many, many levels, all at the same time. I asked what they were communicating at that moment and she never answered the question exactly but said she tries to pay attention to as much as she can. She told me to write down every single little tiny change I notice and keep track. I’ve done that for several years and sometimes when I read over the ‘changes,’ they are amazing.

Here’s a fun one. I’ve always been extremely lucky about finding parking places. When spouse and I first got together I’d say things like, “Oh, go around the corner. There will be a great space to park there.” I was so used to easy parking spaces that it surprised me when we drove around the corner, found the parking space and spouse said, “There is no way you could have possibly known about this parking space.” Haha, I told him, I’m just lucky in some areas of life.

Now, you’d think this luck would transfer into other areas. I think it has. One day a few months ago I got positively twisted after having driven in some nasty traffic. So I came home, told the Universe most emphatically that from now on when I’m out on the road I’d like to have traffic that is light, drivers that are courteous, on-and-off ramps that are cleared, and then ... I forgot about it.

What a surprise when earlier this month I was talking to self, and said, “I just don’t get it. All of the sudden, everywhere I drive is so pleasant. The traffic is light, drivers are courteous, what is going on ... oh ... wait ... I made a request for this! It’s being answered.” Stuff like this so cracks me up. Is this soul work? I know some might call it psychic work, but I’m tending to think its soul stuff work too ... same thing.  :)

Well, my computer went on the blink - literally but now it is back from repairs and seems fine. Haha, does it have a soul? I've read that some believe every single thing has a soul, including wind, air, fire, earth, stones, and on and on.

Yesterday I was reading a book and the author said that the etheric body is what some people call soul. She said that it is the etheric body that goes with us from incarnation to incarnation, that it is the etheric body which people see leaving at the time of physical death. That's not something I've heard before.

The only soul-food offering I have tonight is about bats. Here's the tidbit that just thrills me: according to several sources, second to human beings, bats are the most vocal of all mammals on planet earth. Of course, we cannot hear most of the songs they sing or noises they make. I wish I could. Sometimes before our bats leave their homes for the night (we put up bat houses for them), we can hear them chirping. They sound rather like crickets and it's quite charming.
