A lunar eclipse symbolically produces many things, firstly it is the alignment of the earth, moon and sun. Therefore enhances all of the three major energies of the solar system. The main ritual used at this time is conception, for those who are conceived at the alignment are considered ââ¬Ëspecialââ¬â¢ as they have all the energies within. Some cults believe that the sun moves across the moon to create the shadow, and this enhances the sun (son) god to overpower the Moon (mother) goddess.
Another symbolic representation of the lunar eclipse is Osiris, Isis and Horus, but all beliefs have the same theme - three (3), and for most it is the domination of male over female. A lunar eclipse takes a lot longer than a solar eclipse and usually only partly covers the moon but occasionally you get a full one and the moon changes color, it is amazing to watch, I have got myself out of bed many times to see it. The next lunar eclipse is on March 3rd 2007, and I am sure this is a full cycle. It also depends on where you are on the planet and the season that you will be in, at that time next year I will be swimming (yes please, I need summer).
