So you have decided to leave the Expansions Cult. Congratulations to you! You have now begun a process of finding back to yourself, and finally living a life free of any cult influence. This thread is designed to give advice to those who have left the Expansions Cult on what to do immediately after leaving the cult, how to protect themselves, and what to avoid. It is based on experiences made, and hope is that other former members of the Expansions Cult will join me here in posting their own recommendations, based on their own experiences made.
1. Keep copies of all correspondence and consultations in a safe place. You will have a desire to destroy everything that you have. I am certain that everybody on this forum will understand you very well on this one. Try to resist that temptation and keep everything anyway. This is for a number of reasons. The Swerdlows are highly delusional and chronic liars. You'll be happy to have all correspondence on hand in order to avoid any misunderstandings and should worse come to the worse, prove the facts to the authorities.
Note that they will use anything they can against you, no matter whether true or not, and even publicly so, in an attempt to defame you. On 10 December 2007, someone called Travis had this to say in a google forum about the Swerdlows:
"One thing I've noticed about Stewart is he makes up lies about people to discredit them. He wants people to believe that he is the only one who knows the truth and everyone else is wrong. That's exactly what cult leaders do. They train their followers to rely only on the cult leader. Stewart is gathering followers for his cult. The scary thing is for what purpose. What is his sinister plan? Since he is so heavily programmed, is he aware of what he is doing or is he just following a program?"
2. Cancel all subscriptions with immediate effect, which you do in written form to Janet Swerdlow. This applies to members of the OMG, the Inner Circle group, the Forum subscriptions, etc., or anything else which will lead to further charges on your credit cards. It is highly likely that she will ignore you, or explain to you why you cannot cancel anything. Therefore, also inform your credit card company accordingly. I have also received the advise to cancel my credit cards and request new ones with new numbers. Just to make sure. This saved me a lot of money and turned out to be excellent advise!
3. Some of you will want to post here, and we welcome that. If you do post here or on other forums, make sure that you always stick to the facts, and ideally to what you can backup (hence another reason to keep those emails). Anything that you post on a private forum such as this one is considered private opinions. You are thus free to say anything that you like. It is however illegal to incite third parties to commit crimes.
4. You may receive threats from their lawyer-friend, Anthony Iemma. These are just that: hollow threats. They are just an attempt to get more money out of you, and to stop you from posting here.
5. If you were a victim of a crime, or have witnessed any criminal activities, for which the Swerdlows are responsible for, or were involved with, report this to the FBI.
6. For those of you who were "sexually deprogrammed" or "deprogrammed using Wilhem Reich techniques" this constitutes rape (by coercion).
Some closing remarks by Travis (dd. 8 August, 2008):
"Swerdlow thinks he is a god and that no one can measure up to him. He only pretends to care about people to get their money. He hates everyone and says nasty things about them behind their backs. He doesn’t follow patient confidentially and says nasty things about his clients too. He is delusional and makes up lies about people all the time. He believes his own lies and that shows he is delusional. The Swerdlows are also scamming people into moving to Michigan so that they can drain their client’s bank accounts with so called consultations. Why anyone would trust this nut is beyond me. I just wanted to warm people to think twice about getting involved with this man."
