The video below is a very timely fitting video and shows that financial acumen does not have to be dull or boring. Keiser is the maverick internet sensation and has a knack for truly jazzing up the protest movement from an insider's pov having worked as a Wall Street whiz kid before moving to Paris, France, travelling to Greece to get people to rise up against the 'banker occupation' as he calls it.

He's a die hard American who tells it like it is but it makes fun while at it.

The first part is very entertaining but the 2nd one relates to this topic in particular (some of it is a bit tehcnical but still, hang in, there, it's worth listening to). To allow for a better understanding, here's a quick explanation of the abbreviations mentioned in the video:

Soc Gen        = Société Générale (akin to Merryll Lynch)
BNP Paribas  = like Lehman Brothers
Crédit Agricole = Washington Mutual

ECB = European Central (equal to the Federal Reserve Bank in the US, and Jean-Claude Trichet being the head of the ECB)

EU  = European Union (headquarters based in Brussels, Belgium)

IMF = International Monetary Fund of which Christine Lagarde is the Managing Director (of French origin and replacing the 'fallen from grace' Dominique Strauss-Kahn for sexual harassment and rape charges in a New York hotel)

BTW, things are heating up big time for a major cra$h in the next few weeks. The currency war is in full swing and the Fed's QE3 (or 'Twist) measure by Helicopter Ben backfired and brought down the NASDAQ, DAX (Germany), CAC40 (France), the FTSEE (UK) Stock exchange. Gold's been taking a nose dive as well but is manipulated behind the scenes and kept artificially low by PTB.

Ok, let it roll!

80 arrested at 'Occupy Wall Street' protest

Police corral marchers near stock exchange; demonstration enters 2nd week

NEW YORK Ã¢â‚¬â€ Police arrested about 80 demonstrators near the New York Stock Exchange on Saturday as they marched through lower Manhattan.

The "Occupy Wall Street" protest is entering its second week. Several hundred protesters have been camped out at New York's private Zucotti Park, blocks from the stock exchange.

On Saturday afternoon, several hundred marched north toward Union Square.

Demonstrators said Saturday that they are protesting bank bailouts, the mortgage crisis and Georgia's execution of Troy Davis. They said the protests were inspired by demonstrations in Egypt and Spain.

The marchers carried signs spelling out their goals. "Tax the rich," one sign said. "We Want Money for Healthcare not Corporate Welfare," read another.

"Occupy Wall Street," they chanted, "all day, all week."

Organizers said their intent was to occupy Wall Street but, with metal barricades and swarms of police officers in front of the New York Stock Exchange, the closest they could get was Liberty Street, about three blocks away.

The first arrest came shortly after noon near the stock exchange. Several blocks away, another protester, who identified himself as Robert Stephens, was arrested after kneeling in the middle of the street outside the Chase Bank building.

"That's the bank that took my mother's home," said Stephens, a law student, before being handcuffed.

At Manhattan's Union Square, police tried to corral the demonstrators by using orange plastic netting. Some of the arrests were filmed and activists posted the videos online.

Protest organizers told The New York Times that about 85 people had been arrested and that about five were struck with pepper spray.

Among those was Chelsea Elliott, 25, who said that she was sprayed after shouting “Why are you doing that?” as an officer arrested a protester at East 12th Street.

“I was on the ground sobbing and couldn’t breathe,” she said.

Police say the arrests were mostly for blocking traffic. Charges include disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. But one demonstrator was charged with assaulting a police officer. Police say the officer involved suffered a shoulder injury.

Protest spokesman Patrick Bruner criticized the police response as "exceedingly violent" and said the protesters sought to remain peaceful. Many protesters returned to their encampment Saturday night, where they were joined by new arrivals.

“Right now we are more determined than ever that what we are doing is necessary and correct,” said Patrick Bruner, a spokesman for the protesters, told the Times.

There are also reports that the police have confiscated cameras and other reporting equipment, and arrested reporters. The Wall Street Journal notes that 80 protesters were arrested.

Saw this, finally, on the NY evening news on TV. Apparently the protestors are still there in the park near Walll St. and they refuse to leave despite attempts to make them do so. Some go and others replace them but they keep a vigil.

Q3... about the number... difficult to get an accurate answer on that.

What is the main reason for the protest? Hearing different versions.

What do you think the reason is?

Here's a very interesting interview from Press TV.

The Wall Street protest is slowly starting to spread across the United States.

The resistance continues: 'Occupy Wall Street'

Anyone with eyes open knows that the gangsterism of Wall Street -- financial institutions generally -- has caused severe damage to the people of the United States (and the world). And should also know that it has been doing so increasingly for over 30 years, as their power in the economy has radically increased, and with it their political power. That has set in motion a vicious cycle that has concentrated immense wealth, and with it political power, in a tiny sector of the population, a fraction of 1%, while the rest increasingly become what is sometimes called "a precariat" -- seeking to survive in a precarious existence. They also carry out these ugly activities with almost complete impunity -- not only too big to fail, but also "too big to jail."
