Work
#1
I have been working for 13 years and have changed jobs 7 times.  I have never had a day at work that I enjoy or achieved any kind of satisfation.  I have spent many hours searching for something that I could enjoy using my skills and qualifications but nothing interests me.  Like most people I have to work to earn a living but I do not have the natural abilities to do what I would really enjoy. I have always thought that I could really enjoy work that uses psychic abilities, not like you see in the movies/TV but rather helping people.  However, I do not have any psychic abilities.  I was wondering how many of you actually enjoy your jobs? or whether you have experiences similiar to mine?

You just have to suck it up and find a job to pay the bills. I'm at college because I might persue to become a doctor. I'd do it for the money, even though I don't agree with some of the medicine they use. I just choose the lesser of the evils, so I can incorporate herbs, etc. Or that's what I think I can do. I too am not very confident about my natural abilities too.

But in the end, you work hard when given the opportunity. It's called the Illuminati pyramid, and we're all sucked into it. You just need to change the perspective. Like for example, you might be a janitor whose work does not seem appreciated, but I do appreciate it when I get into a clean restroom. Or you might be serving Mc Donalds. Think of the little kids you brought smiles to (replace Mc Donalds with some other fast food chain restaurant if you want). Somewhere down the road, your work always affect someone's life positively.

I think this is general, but in the long term I think, with accepting this kind of work, while knowing what you are doing actually, it can give a big feeling of internal discomfort and anger. You sell your soul in the long term, and thus selling your abilities and selfrespect.

It's possible to focus first on more "neutral work/jobs".

i.e.

technical research

financial consultancy

Architect

Professional Gardening for big organizations

Sales in fruit & vegetables

Accounting for little business

e-commerce

simple security work

To people who say they only work to get money while they know their work is actually damaging the world, I ask them; if money is so important  for you, so then why don't you deal in cocaine or weapons now ?

Nothing's black and white. There are laws that have to be obeyed while earning money.

I am aiming to get going with education soon, but I thought of working a bit first. I'm not sure what I'm going to choose as a career. I will aim for something I like/love.

Something to do with health, nutritionist/herbalist/naturopath. Architecture is also fun and interesting but I dont know if I have the skills. I guess the real deal is a bit more intricate than what I've thought of.

Craig,

At least 60% of people do not enjoy their jobs, and do it only to survive. There are many reasons ‘why’ this is so, however the number one reason is because of the ‘authority issue’ people do not like being told what to do or when to do it.

I have three jobs, firstly I am a housewife, then astrologer and I also have a paid job outside the home, and I love all three equally.

To enjoy your job, you must first find something that you are passionate about, and then you may need to re-educate yourself in that field, no one should limit themselves to a job just to eat and pay the rent, work takes up so much of our life and it should be enjoyed. It is a myth that we can not love our work.

Just ask yourself “what am I passionate about”?

I just wish it was that easy to do something you love AND get paid enough for it to make a living.

DT,

I think it is that easy, I was talking with someone about this just the other day, and he has been out of work for 5 years, and he said he has ‘never ever’ had a job or boss that he liked! I learned a great deal when we had our own business and how hard it is to actually be the boss, and it’s not all it’s made out to be! I personally would never do it again, too much stress and it gave me wrinkles…

I believe anyone is capable of being paid in an area that they enjoy, but they must be prepared to work hard. It also depends on your money expectations, I only have simple pleasures so I do not look for the big earn..
