diet coke

Yep. My metabolism is shot.

AJ, I'm like my father. He smoked 2 packs of cigarettes a day for over 40 years and then one he decided to give them up and he did. Cold turkey with relatively few issues. That was the same with me and Diet Coke. Once I understood what NutraSweet did to the body that was it. No problems. The headaches in withdrawal I would think would come from the withdrawal of caffiene.

That, caffiene, however is a different story for both me and my dad. He drinks coffee and I drink green tea.

Interesting and you are a lucky woman to be able to do so; this shows your mind pattern is strong once you have decided on something, I drink tea and have never had a coffee in my life, just do not like the taste.

people in general don’t want to give it up, it has a strange affect on people, I do not go around dictating but I could only say that maybe 2 out of 10 people actually believe me that it is so bad, and the ones who have given it up for good feel so much better, as it also has a depressant in it and they feel happier once they have stopped.

The thing that worries me more is in ten years or so, the children who have been raised with the syrup drinks out of machines, the fast food generation and how they are shortening their lives while they are so young.

The food, well its not food! The chemicals they are putting in their bodies today are going to have dire consequences tomorrow.

Anyone read the latest article about someone who took hamburgers from McDonald's and left them out for 3 months, to see what would happen? The problem was, nothing happened.
The meat dried out,but it didn't go bad. This is frightening, because we should ask ourselves, what kind of meat doesn't go bad.

[color=#842dce Wrote:Astrojewels[/color]]It is advisable to stay away from anything that is ‘diet and low fat’, because the sugar and fat is not actually taken out but replaced with synthetic products and the human body can not process these additives. You can eat everything as long as it is in moderation. If you feel like a soda, have one that contains sugar, it is better for the body to break down.

99% of western females will not tolerate this.

they are so obsessed by escaping high fat and low weight they prefer only drinks with the label "diet" or  "light".

When I talk to them the drink is just poison to kill rats or worse, the answer is: "nonsense, food companies are under government quality control".

Yes Octahedron, This is so . The general programming in the states is for girls and women to be boyishly thin. The trend however now is to avoid sodas and diet drinks. However if they read the label they would see that many manufactured drinks have artificial sweetners. Even some juice drinks and waters. Yes, people have been trained to trust not only  the government but so called authority as well. My favorite bumper sticker of all time is:

ALWAYS QUESTION AUTHORITY:)

It kills me when people think that the government cares about the general public and is looking out for them. It makes me wonder how did they get so brainwashed. Don’t they have eyes? Don’t they look around and see what’s going on in this world? Sadly it seems like most people only know what’s going on, on American Idol and other shows like that.

Richard,  Everyday I am thankful that for most of my childhood we did not have a television. One of my pet peeves is the nearly 24 hour a day television and/or radio on THANG!

There are people who fashion their lives on some of these programs they see on TV. I think that started with soap operas. I thought I was just imagining this or giving it too much credence until my presidential model friend confirmed that yes she used to do this consciously to some degree and knew others that did as well. Odd that I worked in the industry a while.

My husband is from a household  that had the TV and/or radio/stereo going 24/7. It makes me crazy and I escape to the outdoors for relief at times but he is finally beginning to see that this may be a problem for him.

I could tell years back because the drink with artificial sugar would burn my throat.
I love the cane colas and sometimes buy the expensive Japanese colas.

Honestly, I don't get what's the big deal with diet coke. I'm not allergic to the artificial sugar. I drink a lot of diet coke, even everyday for a few months at a time, and I don't notice my health deteriorating or any weight gains. But if you're allergic to artifical sugar, then avoid it.

Silver, I wish you Well and believe that some can drink and eat all they want. But for most of us who are much older then you we see, feel, and know that the chemical build up of these drinks and foods stay in our bodies and effect us later on in life!
