ive been told it's impossible to sneak up to a deer and grab one.
it took many days, and attempts, but i got one, and i made it quick.
i figured out running at deer on foot was fruitless no matter how fast and determined a human is.
i found a herd in a open quarry while mountain biking in the backcountry. i peddeled hard and sprinted towards them and they become confused and disoriented as they had no where to go except over the cliff or take a chance and zigzag past me. i went for the biggest male in the herd and went straight in for the kill. i jumped off my bike onto it's back and sinked in a tight rear naked chock. it bucked and flaired and almost won the battle, but i took the great beast down and was the victor this day. i made it quick and painless.
i cut em up into quarters and will use em fer meat.
aid a prayer and thanked him for its lifeforce. i felt him thank me back.
