what does getting chased by a grizzly bear represent?
#1
was just chased by a grizzly bear, here's a quick description of the event as i wrote it at another forum, at a library, don't have time to go into more detail......

i was just charged at by a grizzly bear about 1 hour ago

just moved to a wilderness resort where i live and work 2 days ago. Finished dinner went for a walk down the highway, ventured off about 15 yards towards the bush, the bush being 40 yards off the highway. Was talking tomyself and singing, actually said something like 'wouldn't it be fucked if i saw a bear' that second, i saw a bear right on the treeline, scared the sh*t out of it, scared the sh*t out of me. I started walking briskly toward the highway, and it starts chasing me. I freak out, stop jump and and down waving my hat, bear stops for a second, stands on 2 feet, then starts charging me again, i book it towards the highway, i ran into middle of highway hoping for a car to flag down, nothing for a second, pee'd myself a little, then in the distance a semi truck, i jump up and down like a mofo pointing at the bear who was still running at me. The semi pulls to the left side of the road (on coming traffic lane) i run to the other side of semi and buddy blows his blow horn, and the bear now on the highway, gets spooked and takes off.

went back to my cabin, thought about life, drove to nearest town.

Wow...this happened to you in real life or in a dream? If it was in real life...that's really scary. I'm glad I wasn't in your shoes.

In dreams, seeing a bear means aggressiveness, and running away means not confronting a problem...but I can't see how that would pertain to real life incidents

Unless of course you were supposed to show your aggressiveness and stand up to have a fist fight with the bear.icon_lachtot(Okay...so it wasn't that funny.)

Hopefully, someone else here can give you more insight into this.  I'm glad you're okay.

Hey Kid:D,

This is early in  the time of year when bears start fattening up for winter. If you are in an area where they are gathering food you'll be seen as either a contender for that food or more food. You have to carry  pepper spray with you if you plan on taking walks whether you're alone or not. Okay?

That's the Mom in me :smirk:

Wow, what a story. Good you are save.

See it from the positive side; you live in Canada, where nature is still wild and real.

Enjoy living in a healthy country like yours.

In overpopulated Western-Europe there are no bears at all in the outer lands.

TheKid, I'm glad you're okay right now. It's funny how the same day I read your story the news at night in our local broadcasting news channel did a clip on someone who pretty much acts like a bear and comes close to them without getting attacked. He saids that if you look at them in the eye you will see their kind spirit, but if you are afraid they will exploit that fear. It sounds like the Bear frequency gives courage, and what was said about them in dreams representing us running away from fears, makes sense because they would teach you that by scaring you off in real life (and even killing you). I don't suggest standing in front of a bear though. They can probably see any fear in your eyes.

Then this morning the news on another channel talked about a reporter being mauled by a smaller bear. Maybe since this is the beginning of the year with the rise of terrorist scares from the media we are seeing the bears becoming more active in "teaching us."

Hey Kid,

I immediately thought, "be careful what you ask for, you just might get it..."
Your proximity to the wild places might indicate that you like to "live on the edge" and test yourself.  Have fun with it, but use protection as always...Cool
