Confusing sayings
#1
Okay, so I was sitting around doing some thinking and I wondered why there were sayings like: "Only the good die young" or "the nice guy always finishes last" or "no good deed goes unpunished."  What's up with those sayings? If there is Karma, then those sayings should not be true or even be said, and if there isn't any Karma then maybe we all need to get greedy, selfish and mean to get ahead.  What a sad world that would be - oh wait - isn't that how it is now? I guess I need to get with the program.

Another saying I think that is strange is "you can’t have your cake and eat too". Why can’t you? People do it everyday. People have cake and eat it.

One I like is an ancient Greek saying pertaining to the quality of things which ARE CHEAP...

Quote:That which is expensive is cheap, and what is cheap is expensive.

Refering to the fact that if we buy something cheap we are bound to replace it due to fast-breakdown or fast-wear.  Thereby having to replace it time and time again.  Had we instead outlayed a bit more monies initially to obtain the higher quality 'item of equivilence' then it would NOT suffer such premature deaths thereby saving us from having to replace/buy it time and time again.

At first, this saying seems strange, but when thought out it makes sense.

Quote:If there is Karma, then those sayings should not be true or even be said,
Karma is true DT but people are impatient.  She often takes her time in making sure that her majik makes proper and most impact on the perpertrating subject.  I feel that because people don't see her action a problem immediately that they feel she has failed, so hence such contradictive sayings and terms.  But I know from experiance that in this life, ALL things are payed for before we depart.  Karma makes no mistake nor does she play dice.  For instance... she seems to have forgotten to act against subjects like the illuminati, but we should remember that they have lifespans that far exceed ours.  In due course, before their natural days are over 'be it one way or another', when she deems it appropriate her glory shall make no mistake and will envelop them all.  One fine day.

Nicely written Andrew, the problem with karma DT is it does not work on your action it works on your intention and reaction to the action, therefore those who are greedy, nasty and mean don’t hold a moral sense like you and I would, this is why you see others that seem to not be affected by the energy of karma, however like Andrew says it does eventually catch up to them, and usually in an emotional way.

Once the thought has already entered your mind and you are outplaying that thought into action, the karma has already been received because karma is the energy of pre-thought – it is your individual intention.

When you say to get ahead do you mean financially?

Well I sure hope that you are right, Andrew, because there are a few people who really need a 'karma check' in my circle. I just hope I see it before I depart. [Image: 06.gif]

DT, while on the subject of "confusing sayings" have you ever thought about the nursery rhymes and children's stories. Cinderella's mom died and left her with a stepfather and 2 mean stepsisters who treated her like a slave. Snow White had to deal with a wicked witch and poison apple. Jack and Jill ==Jack fell down and broke his skull. Lullaye "rock a by baby" the bough broke, the cradle fell and down came baby cradle and all. Wizard of Oz, Dorothy had a wicked witch and a tornado to deal with. Also had no parents, just Antie Em. Poor Little Red Riding Hood had a big, bad, wolf. I could go on but you get the picture. This society starts the negativity and fear at a very early age.

One night, many years ago, I thought I heard Bush say "War is peace"....   ... um, Mr. Bush - that doesn't make any sense.

Yes, Blue Moon, those are some scary things for kids, but kids do not find those scary any more. They have bigger and better things to be scared of. And, come to think of it, I never found those scary either. I don't remember what I did find scary, but it must have been bigger and better. [Image: 66.gif]

BlueMoon ,

Most older nursery rhymes were originally political jabs and jingles etc. How they ended upin the nursery is left up to the imagination perhaps.
