Demons are spoken of in many cultures and religions.Just a smidgen of research will reveal that.

Hhhmmm...I did some re-research and still don't find anything substantive.  Perhaps if you listed a couple of authoritative references I could see to what you are referring.

Thanks, William! This is very interesting - I knew of the yaoguai, but I always thought, since they were animals, that they were more like yeti or the chupacabra.

I believe shamans have known about them for a very long time, and they have been around a while. The vikings knew of one I think, one called Mare or something. A female spirit which haunted children in their sleep. I read the same story came from other cultures too, And I suppose the word "nightmare" comes from it, the word for nightmare in norwegian is "mareritt". She might also have eaten kids, I dont remember.

I am sure everyone has their unique description of what a Demon truly is.  What I would like to establish is what is the true purpose and intent of demons.  Do they want to keep our souls trapped? DO they want our souls for themselves? Whats the issue?

My opinion is one of such that demons are truly fallen angels.

Aliens? Fallen angels.

I believe the Bible is a true source of history. Aliens are wanna be gods. We as humans are their project
CANT BE GOD's, but wannna be gods. Aren't we all to some degree "wanna be gods". If not now at some point? Its the "alien" influence on us I would say. Or as the Bible would say satans influence on this world because he is the ruler of this world.

If we try to discredit that fact by saying its all based upon a "religious" foundation we miss a certain point. Its important to acknowledge that all history it is based on "religion". Religion is simply your belief system, plain and simple. Whether your religion is buddha, government, satan, Jesus or any other form. Religion is what you believe to be true (what you were programmed to believe is true).
I dont like religion because it takes away the fact that life is fluid and changes. I am, by foundation, a Christian -could you guess :0. Yet I know all I have been fed is not true. I know I have more to learn. When you base your belief system upon another person belief system you fail.
Its MY LIFE to live and I wont stop asking and learning and understanding until the day I die.
I will never have all the answers, but I know when I hear another soul searching for the truth, we are kindred spirits.
I love a person who knows many things, yet also looks for answers. Because, as we know, none of us have The answer.
I think I say that because we are all searching.
NO ONE HAS ALL THE ANSWERS!!!
