Heroes The TV Show
#11
Well just watching the episode of DR Who and the robots with masks on kinda freeked me out.  I dont like them porcelain doll masks.

The other message Episide of Dr Who was the one that the Queen of England was bit from a Warewolf.  Thats why her blood is different and the following family line might shift into something....  hahaha... they walk off laughing at that, how could that be real................ ha  ;)

PP, we should live close to each other so we could go to the movies together! lol

I end up seeing a lot of them by myself because my husband doesn't really like them.
I got uneasy with blue chick in The Grudge, in Grudge2  I thought they used the little meowing boy a little too often but she was still creepy .  Anything portrayed as moving "funky" or coming through technology is creepy to me.  And "They" about the closets?  A certifiable therapy film me personally.  I went in expecting a nice creepy flick and I was totally wigged out by the end.  Guess that serves me right. :smirk:

I haven't seen Saw3 yet but went to the first 2.  I also saw Hostel, which I thought raised some interesting questions about how Americans are viewed abroad and about socio-economics, beyond the gorey stuff.

As to the triggers in Heroes, I was definitely getting the "alter" vibe which in light of the past 3 weeks was more disturbing to me than would have otherwise been, I think.  Will be interesting as the series progrosses to hear what others pick up.  I will probably not watch it much, though.

Haven,William and others:

lol yes horror film therapy is : hugging your friend afterwards or during the film...lol. or erm, laughing it off and doing other things to make you realize that you shouldn't be so emotionally overinvolved with the film..that it was simply a film with real people faking a lot of scenes(acting)--haha perhaps write it down somewhere on an index card in your bathroom mirror saying ,"Self, you must Chill cuz its only a movie"...and or..go watch the scary movie films(something funny) right after...(as William was right about that)

Scary Movie 3 cured me of the horrors of the Ring flicks. Scary Movie 4 cured me of The Grudge lol....but yeah Scary Movie 4 wasn't all that..i can't believe they parodied of brokeback mountain..that wasn't even a horror movie lol. they shoulda thrown that in the date movie series of movies they'll (the same dudes who were involved with the scary movie series) be cranking out. Date Movie parodied My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Wedding Planner, Meet the Parents, My Best Friends Wedding, Hitch,...anything romance oriented. Maybe the second one will parody BrokeBack Mountain..not that I want it to....cuz erm..it may offend others.

William: yeah the show seems to leak out the truth...about the queen having beastly connections in her line, alien invasions, tampering with history lines, viruses converting everyone(the i want my mummy virus...lol). I didn't see the robot epidose. *gotta get over the fact that they changed Dr. Who's appearance....lol..man doesn't Rose see the change? lol...they did the same stuff with the Lexx series..they changed the actresses who played the sex slave named Xev(i think thats her name?)*

Haven: hrmm...if only we could fold the united states like as if it was a piece of paper....that would enable New Yorkers to meet Californians....and thus allowing like minded people such as you and myself to connect and see all weird shocking horror movies and point out all the triggers and programming sequences..only to laugh at 'em.."haha that____________ didn't get me!! they don't have power over me!!!whoohoo!!!"

Purple Parrot is way too happy at the moment...

Ok you may know this but for our general audience out there I shall elucidate.....  Im an old timey watcher of the Dr Who series, my fave from way back is Tom Baker!   But Dr Who is a Time lord, (last of his kind) and when he dies he Does change form and regenerates, so he wont look like the same person.  So yes, Rose would not recognize him, But she could recognize his soul perhaps?  Now you might already know this, like I said its for our audience so please be sure and tip your waitress, thankyou and good night!~

Okay, I'm going to catch up on this thread.

William: I saw The Jacket last year when I went to visit my sister and brother-in-law. I thought it was weird (but interesting) back then, and when it came out on HBO this year, I made Richard watch it with me. I don't know if he cared for it or not. But the concept of it was the same one as on the movie Somewhere In Time with Christopher Reeves - how you can time travel with just the power of your mind. (I found it interesting and kind of spooky how the main character's name is the same name as your administrator.)  Yes, that one episode of Dr. Who, where all of their faces turned into gas masks was kind of creepy - but cool.  And yes, I caught that insinuation about the queen's blood. Richard and I talked about that and laughed also.

PP: I know that William addressed this already, but in the Dr. Who series, yes, Rose did notice the difference in the change of Dr. Who. The one whole episode was about the change, and that was when they explained how this was how he worked - he doesn't die, he regenerates, and that is why he does not like staying with any one person for too long - because they will grow older, while he will get younger.

I will not see any of The Saw movies or Hostel. I don't like 'sick' movies and that is what those are to me. I did see The Grudge (#1) and thought it was a stupid movie, so I will probably not watch #2.  Just like The Ring...everyone kept telling me how scary it was and how I should not watch it alone. All of my girls were telling me how scared they were of their t.v.s and computers after that movie, and how they freaked whenever the phone would ring. When I went back there one year, my daughter had rented the movie so I could watch it, but they (her & her husband) were going out and I was babysitting and they said I shouldn't watch it until they got home, so of course I watched it when they were gone. :slywink: I found the movie laughable. It was so stupid and I didn't find it scary at all. So that is another movie where I will not watch the sequels.

I did like Scary Movie 4. It made me laugh and I also got to see an idea about what The Saw and those other ones I won't watch, were about.

William and DT: Lol Okay Okay So I missed that episode of Dr.Who ! Thanks for the explanation!!! Will catch up with the series sometime. Who has Dr. Who traveled with the longest?Does he pick weird people--as in what do you have to do to qualify as a travel companion for this expert time traveler??

DT: Yeah I hear ya about all those movies. With The Ring, my brother and I watched it together and the scenes that freaked us out were the first and last ones. I also had issues with the computer monitor in my room for a few days. One of my friends knew about my irrational fear and he would leave voice mails saying"Seven days...." lol..he even sent an email with a picture of me and our friends with our faces all swirled up(like in the movie..lol). Scary Movie 3 cured me of The Ring and Ring 2. I saw The Grudge and its japanese version..Ju-On...Ju-On cracked me up..I don't understand why the americanized versions freaked me out. I did watch The Grudge with two other girls and the three of us laughed throughout the movie but after we all went home, we were bugged lol. Even though I was with a packed audience and four friends, Grudge 2 perturbed me. I think its just a belief in negative demonic astral entities and what they can do to humans that bugs me.

I have not seen Hostel--everyone tells me its sick. I'm not a fan of sick movies either..I like Japanese horror or any horror relating to otherworldly entities. I watched Bollywood horror also...which is like Japanese horror.

I think that Dr. Who likes to take anyone who gets his 'gonads' moving...if you get my drift. icon_anmachen  The only way that I knew he had other people before Rose, was in one episode he ran into a woman who had traveled with him before and she was now an 'older' woman (probably in her 40's). She went on and on about how he just left her and never came back for her. Rose was quite jealous about that and kept on questioning Dr. Who if and when he was going to leave her and he claims that he isn't going to.

I don't think we have Heroes here yet but it sounds interesting.  Scary movies really don't interest me like they used to - there's enough gross stuff around already.  There have been ads on TV for the Saw movie and it just looked yukky to me.  As regards Dr Who, I have watched every one of the Doctors right from the original William Hartnell back in black-&-white days. What's that I hear some saying? No Colour?  This new series is fantastic I reckon - the series with the new Doctor just finished last month - do keep watching, it's worth it.  I'm still waiting for more episodes of The 4400 - the TV station keeps messing it around.  In my opinion the stations know Sci-Fi fans will wait forever for our favourite shows - we are dedicated. Stargate is going well but seems to come on later and later - there's often some rubbish put in earlier in the evening which puts all the shows out of sync timewise.  Just a personal gripe - sorry.  Does this happen with your TV stations too?  I loved the movie with Christopher Reeve - time shifts and time travel have always fascinated me from an early age - what is the story in The Jacket? - haven't seen any ads yet, don't have Foxtel or anything.
