"someone told me that it burns energy though"
Hi, Martusika,
Can you clarify this statement? What does "it burns energy" mean as it is referred to here? (Even walking "burns energy".) Which type of yogic practice do you mean?
I haven't found any negative affects from Hatha Yoga practiced in moderation.

I was told that Yoga increases the energy you get into your aura..its more of an energetic work or something like that. Don't take my word for it because I could be wrong.
There are DVD's , books and websites out there that say you can lose weight through yoga..if thats what you mean?
You're supposed to feel better after doing yoga if you do it properly and correctly. I am going to hopefully go back into it on a regular basis during the month of January late December. I manage to do breathwork everyday but not enough asanas.

look at all the yoga masters and tai chi masters, etc. they're all mostly thin.. i ws told that when u do these thigns.. yes its good for u in a sense.. but u mostly burn energy ... sort of like when u own a car and burn a lot of gas because u went for a trip a few cities down... same with yoga, tai chi, etc.

i heard that in addition to yoga and reiki you have to release the stored energy with sports and other exercises or you will be thin out.
BTW, boy, is that image massive!

I don't want to digress too much, but have to say the image feels comforting.

Kris Kringle,
Before I forget, I found the Pranayama exercise in the Hyperspace Healing book very useful in the case you're talking about a need to some physical exercise.

Thought I'd resurrect this thread as I'd be interested to hear people's opinions on it now there are a few more members.
For some reason I have always been deeply attracted to qigong more than any other system and have dabbled with a few different kinds over the years, and they always made me feel better. Nowadays I do some Iron Shirt breathing exercises in the mornings and it really does energise me for the day.
Personally the only person I've heard mention about energy "burning up" the body is Swerdlow. I can imagine it's true if it isn't practiced properly, but qigong always stresses properly storing energy and using it responsibly so that this doesn't happen. Of all the different kinds I have tried, this simply wouldn't happen unless I did it wrong.
That's my experience anyway, it would be interesting to hear from anyone who has used any of the more traditional energy arts with hyperspace knowledge?
