Swimming In Lake Michigan?
#1
Serious and mundane question.  We are leaving tomorrow to go to Chicago to visit my husband's oldest daughter (she is only 9-10 years younger than me so step-daughter always feels weird to both of us :retard:).  Swimming in Lake Mich. was one suggested activity and I think several of you are near that area or familiar with it so I just thought I'd ask.  Is that okay?  Anything I should try to see or avoid while there?

Thanks in advance.

That would be cool :big grin:.  I totally don't know anyone at expansions and even though I joined I feel all awkward because I don't know anyone and no one has ever used the intro thread lol.  I plan on getting a reading by Stewart and a toning by Janet at some point though.  I could drop by and say "Ya'll got a free minute?" lol j/k

Where is Richard anyway, he would know about swimming in Lake Michigan
I mean I know a lot of people do it, but I see people swimming in water all the time that I would have some "thoughts" about lol

Swimming in Lake Michigan is nice. The beach here in St. Joe was voted one of the top 5 beaches in the US. I grew up in Chicago but I haven’t been swimming out there since I left there in 1976. Back then the beaches were nice. I imagine they’re a lot more crowed now.

When are you planning on seeing Janet and Stewart?

Hey, Richard, thanks for the information.

I have nothing set up with Stewart or Janet yet.  I have been trying to schedule something with Stewart when he is here in SF in August, but I am experiencing a lot of interference with that.  The woman Barbara has never responded to any emails (I may have been in her spam box), then Robert said he was going to talk to Janet directly but I haven't heard back from either of them.

My husband, who is a nice scientific Virgo, is okay with me getting a reading but is having trouble with the idea of me getting one without being physically present with Stewart Rolleyes, so I was trying to schedule something in person.  As a last resort I may just do it through email anyway.  Is there an actual physical store/location?

I know Expansions get tons of email and sometimes it takes them awhile to reply. The Swerdlows business is in their home. They have an office in their home where they do consultations. You would be surprised with how Stewart and Janet can scan you from a distance. You don’t need to be there in person. Even Karen surprised me how well she scanned me and she’s in Australia. It was like she knew me all my life and I haven't met her in person yet.

Thanks again, Richard.  Personally I have no problems with distance consultations.  I think it should be more impressive if people get stuff right and don't have body language to read :big grin:.

Anyway, have a great weekend!

I won't swim in Lake Michigan....upstream from Chicago there is an old nuclear powerplant in Zion IL...Not, to mention all the mutated dead fish that land on shore + the lovely fact that birds have flocked to the shore feeding on the dead fish....completely nasty....Lake Michigan has been an industrial toxic waste dump for the last 120 years....FYI to anyone who is interested

SilverSister,

Thank you for posting about swimming in Lake Michigan.I believe it is misunderstood when the beach is rated as one of the cleanest . The body of water was not mentioned but I know about the toxins in the lake as well.

I realize this is a bit late for your question Haven. My husband and I visited St Joes a couple of years ago, the weather was nice but not hot enough for us to swim, but I dipped my fins! We walked the pier, chatted with locals, watched a big ship slowly sail in, apart from those ships loosing toxins, I felt very comfortable there, it was very drawing, we sat for about 2 hours, we are both water signs and very comforted by this environment. I felt the strong Earth/water energy, very calming and the water has a thickness about it, I had never seen a lake so large, it was an amazing site, I could have stayed all day. Water is an element that naturally cleanses itself -with so much volume; this lake would follow the cycle of replenishing. Personally, I would love to take my children there to swim, when you come from a country where water is in short supply, this site was extraordinary.
