Pcs Matt Jackson and Yasmin Mossadegh, of Kent Police, came across the two-foot long, 20lbs animal - the size of a small dog - hopping along a road in Canterbury at 2.20am on Sunday.

They admitted that at first it seemed like "something out of Alice in Wonderland". But detaining the albino rabbit before it caused an accident proved to be more of a handful than they first thought.

After spending 10 minutes fruitlessly trying to grab the animal - even resorting to using their jackets as matador capes in a bid to snare the creature - they had to call on eight members of the public to help out.

Pc Jackson said: "After several failed attempts trying to grab the rabbit, we removed our coats to try and cover it with a bullfighting technique. Again this failed.

"Pet-loving members of the public who were passing by saw us struggling and rushed to our assistance. Now, with 10 pairs of hands at the ready, the rabbit's time on the run was coming to an end."

The officers and members of the public pursued it for about 200 yards before it was finally caught.

Pc Jackson added with a smile: "Inquiries are ongoing into unconfirmed reports that Bunny had an accomplice called Clyde who assisted in the hare-brained escape idea."

The rabbit has been nicknamed Tiny and is currently being cared for by staff at Barton Veterinary Hospital in New Dover Road.

It is still unknown where the animal came from.

Veterinary nurse Jenny Gooderham said: "I think it is someone's pet as it is in good condition and is used to being handled. We've certainly never had a stray giant rabbit before - they are not very common."

Strange but cute!

Kinda related- - - ->> about 4 months ago I'm driving home, it's almost dark and this huge cougar (black), runs across the road in front of me.  Being conspiracy minded and all, as I am... lol... I think "Oh great, someone's shapeshifted".

I don't think anymore about it until this morning when on the radio I hear about this:

Cougar Sightings in Delaware

....and then I also read Stewart's NEWS Section every day and he says this:

"February 23, 2009
Jaguar Returns No, not the car--the animal! A jaguar was captured just south of Tucson, Arizona this past week. The large cat had not been seen in many decades, almost a century.
In Central Mexico, jaguars have been spotted after over 100 years of absence. These creatures are making a roaring comeback.
What is bringing them back? Same project that is returning the thunderbirds, sea serpents and other creatures from long ago--the Illuminati plan to return North America to prehistoric conditions."

Oh... I forgot to mention.... where I live and where I was travelling in my car  - - cougars are NOT supposed to be there.  It's highly unusual.

I posted the story because I thought the size of that rabbit was unusual but DT claims that’s normal for giant white rabbits. She said people raise them for food.

I have seen plenty of stories of other creatures making a comeback. Also lots of stories about albino animals being born.

I came across this one while reading about the boy with cat eyes.

It may not be a jaguar. But I thought it was strange.

Quote:I have seen plenty of stories of other creatures making a comeback.

There have been stories for years down in Tasmania about the extinct Tasmanian Tiger.  People there say that the forests down south are so extensive that it could be hiding there all this time without detection...keeping away from humans  Apparently they were very cunning creatures.

One story i heard years ago was of a guy living adjacent to these forests on a remote farm and how his dog would regularly arc up at something in the woods.  When the dog would then start moving towads them, it would stop barking and run back with its tail tucked in between its legs... very scared.  Old timers who had lived during the time when the Tiger was still around have said that dogs were always freightened of them.  Who knows?

Many a sighting of a large BLACK cat has been said to exist in the Gippsland ranges in Vic.  Cougar size.  Apparently escaped from a circus many years ago and they kept it quiet to avoid being made to pay for its capture and return.  Blurry distant pictures have been taken of it over time, but no hard evidence. Fancy hiking through the place to be confronted by a hungry black cougar where there is NOT suppose to be any such thing??

DT's correct. There is a giant  breed of rabbit and they come in many colors including white.

Sily , There is a cougar/cougars roaming my area and my property. I saw him clear as day not 100ft. from me and he wasn't running. He was strolling. Others in the area have encountered  a cougar as well and some have photographs. Apparently they have been seen for at least 6 years in this area. I'm in SW Ohio. There is a local tracker who has a photograph of a black cougar under an overpass . My neighbor's son is a mammalogist for the Bronx Zoo and he tells me that ,yes ,there are black cougars. Some feel these are escaped pets and others feel that it is a population being pushed  from West Virginia. I think it's both. In parts of WV they have erected 8 ft. high chain link fence around school playgrounds due to the cougar population. There was a mare and her foal killed in a town @ 20 miles from here. A cougar is suspected. These cats do  have a large range.

I highly recommend a book titled The Beast In The Garden by David Baron. It tells the true  tale of Boulder Colorado's cougar problem. I think you'll enjoy it.

FYI.....The  jaguars return  has been sighted and documented in the southwest USA since at least the mid '90's. There are articles on the web . I lived in SE Texas in the late '80's and recall hearing of sightings then. Also I have a relative who owns a large ranch in New Mexico and they are well aware of the jaguar there.
