What are 'ghosts'
#11
people hallucinating after licking frogs?! never heard that one before lol but about ghosts, ive seen and communicated with them, as well as helped others deal with the not so pleasant ones...i reckon scientists will one day be able to prove their existance, maybe when we develop more advanced technology...

[color="#0000ff Wrote:Sily[/color]]...I just wanted to add that interestingly it was husband who saw the frog first and we kind of claimed it to be "his".  We both thought it was there for him, not me, if that is possible to know.  It was trying to climb the stairs to get to the top when he was coming home one night.  It got knocked off the porch by the dogs -- I watched it roll in the dirt and try to climb the stairs again.  We'd turn off the light, it would stay on the porch all night and be gone every morning.  For two summers it became a joke between me and husband and we'd say "go check the porch to see if The Frog is there" and sure enough it would be there same place ... to the left of the door.  I took pictures of it, got right up into it's face, and it never moved.  I poked at it's body with my finger, it never moved.  I thought it's be afraid of me but, nope....

Well, I am very happy to update this thread to say..... as of July 5th, 2008 our FROG is back!!!!

It has been several years since our porch frog has been sitting night after night on the porch, but last night - upon coming home from work, husband finds frog sitting in same spot as before, at the top of the porch.

It is interesting to note that it was once again husband who saw this frog first, it was not me.  I still think this is *his* frog.  I will try to take pictures.

This is very, very special..... to have a porch frog return after an absence of so many years and to sit on the top of the porch!!!

I wonder where your frog has journeyed in this time silly, and why would he be back to say G’day? keep us informed to his movements and if he does anything special. He might be here to celebrate your birthday…

Well, I have had a thought - - the first time the *frog sitting* happened was the summer of 2001.  And then 2 months later September 11, 2001 - 9/11 happened in New York City.

I am going to see if something very serious happens within the next two months.

If nothing serious happens in the next two months, I will put my Frog Messenger theory to rest.  But if something happens again, it has to be really earth shattering, I will be thinking this is a messenger frog.

I keep calling it a frog, but it might be a toad.  I hope to take a picture then maybe post the picture on some frog-identification-forum to find out if it's toad or frog.  I don't know what sex it is either -- male/female?  It just sits there and stares straight ahead, not talking much or offering much information.  :?

Okay Astrojewels, I'm back with one more thought - maybe it's not a Messenger Frog like I was saying above.  Maybe it just the simple act of a frog sitting on a porch.  Unusual some might think but I do find some comfort in the idea it's just a frog sitting on a porch and it doesn't mean anything.  :-)

Who knows?  I *think* I might *think* too much.  :D

I find frogs to be very mysterious, maybe your right, maybe its just a frog sitting on your porch, but I find that hard to believe, and I am sure you do too, what about my frog, he was a weird one and I don’t think I ever understood his message, I don’t think you have to understand the message just the energy of the visit, there is something unexplainable about frogs, we get a little bit of rain, and bang the whole area is singing with frog fornication, there are eggs everywhere in the tiny puddles, they are such survivors and I think that is what makes them so mystifying.

Try to tune into the energy of just you, hubby and the frog, see if that brings anything, what is the frog doing while visiting?

I have an update.... July 8th and 7th there have been no sightings on the porch.  This morning I asked husband if when he came home last night, did he see Porch Frog?  He said "No" but did see a tiny frog on the ground hopping around near the first step. I figure that's pretty normal so no big surprise.

Historically the Porch Frogs just sit there, not moving at all.  I want to say almost like they are in a trance!  I even poked one with my finger and it did not scurry away!  Crazy!

And then there is the time I didn't see the frog in front of the door, I let the dogs out and the dogs hit the frog with their front paws and knocked the frog off 4 steps and into the dirt.  Well.... I just about lost it (crying) when I saw the frog take a tumble in the dirt, rolling over and over and then sit straight upright and try to climb the steps again!  I thought "WHY"?   Don't you want a safer place?

Ahhhhh.. I just remembered something else that I had forgotten - one time we opened the front door and the Porch Frog hopped inside our home!  It wanted in!  It got in!  The dogs were going crazy but I got it out.

Now, I'm writing this at 7:16pm and it's still light out.  We have had a thunderstorm and the ground was VERY wet when I came home.  Walking into the house I surveyed the whole yard for jumping frogs, both tiny and large.  Nothing at all seen.  At around 9pm when it's dark I'll try again to look and ask husband to try before he goes to bed (we go to bed at different times, he stays up later than me).

It seems like he has journeyed on to his next porch silly, my dogs get funny with frogs as well, but they don’t want to eat them, they are curious about them! it sounds like don’t like picking the frog up silly? I think frogs always look like they are in some type of trance, like they are hypnotized to just stare….

Yeah, I agree about the trance part.  Maybe they have to be that way to catch bugs, if they were moving around a lot the bugs might fly away.

Well, another day has past and no porch frog.  Yes, it seems it's moved on.

I don't like picking up frogs because they are squishy.  But I do love watching them and I love when they show up on my porch!  :-)
