Where is the afterlife and what is it composed of?

Maybe this is the afterlife, and before this we were actually living :)

Great replies and so true bluemoon, I would have thought this thread would get more replies as I find that in general, nearly everyone has an opinion on the afterlife, and I don’t think any of us can say our own thought/beliefs hold solid proof to what happens.

Yet something to think about, the majority of the population actually envy the people that are no longer with us, or they show impatience to get to the other side to be with those they have lost, yet while alive they don’t appreciate life or who they share it with, or just the day to day beauty that nature provides for us. The other fact is I am sure that when we do depart our physical bodies we experience a great many wonderful experiences, yet we always have a need to return to the physical, therefore if the spiritual plane was heaven, our final resting place for our souls, why do we want to get back here to the earth plane?

My personal experiences confirm to me the presence of an afterlife.
I had 2 close relations pass and was able to speak with them.
I got to learn that,if you had not learned what you needed while here in the physical plane, it does not come to you like magic once you pass.
Also, many things that were learned here were false and  not or were of no value on the other side.
One interesting thing was the resolution of family issues. Many secrets concerning family travails and tribulations encountered and not resolved during physical life are answered after the passing, when all the records are reviewed.
With insight into this last statement, the living ,armed with  the knowledge can have things resolved. This goes a long way to save wear and tear on the individual.
This is my little addition to the post.

Because perhaps there are certain non-physical things, like abilities, attributes, social level, and such, that are only a product of physical-life endeavors

A soul-system can exist without a god, and that's likely the reality

The concept of a god is crooked anyway. If you believe in a central lord, you love being inferior, secondary, and subordinate to a Master
