The Future Is Here: Dystopian Movies Fit for a Dystopian World

    The Internet is watching us now. If they want to. They can see what sites you visit. In the future, television will be watching us, and customizing itself to what it knows about us. The thrilling thing is, that will make us feel we’re part of the medium. The scary thing is, we’ll lose our right to privacy. An ad will appear in the air around us, talking directly to us.”—Director Steven Spielberg, Minority Report

We have arrived, way ahead of schedule, into the dystopian future dreamed up by such science fiction writers as George Orwell, Aldous Huxley, Margaret Atwood and Philip K. Dick.

Much like Orwell’s Big Brother in 1984, the government and its corporate spies now watch our every move.

Much like Huxley’s A Brave New World, we are churning out a society of watchers who “have their liberties taken away from them, but … rather enjoy it, because they [are] distracted from any desire to rebel by propaganda or brainwashing.”

Much like Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale, the populace is now taught to “know their place and their duties, to understand that they have no real rights but will be protected up to a point if they conform, and to think so poorly of themselves that they will accept their assigned fate and not rebel or run away.”

And in keeping with Philip K. Dick’s darkly prophetic vision of a dystopian police state—which became the basis for Steven Spielberg’s futuristic thriller Minority Report which was released 20 years ago—we are now trapped into a world in which the government is all-seeing, all-knowing and all-powerful, and if you dare to step out of line, dark-clad police SWAT teams and pre-crime units will crack a few skulls to bring the populace under control.

Minority Report is set in the year 2054, but it could just as well have taken place in 2022.

Seemingly taking its cue from science fiction, technology has moved so fast in the short time since Minority Report premiered in 2002 that what once seemed futuristic no longer occupies the realm of science fiction.

Incredibly, as the various nascent technologies employed and shared by the government and corporations alike—facial recognition, iris scanners, massive databases, behavior prediction software, and so on—are incorporated into a complex, interwoven cyber network aimed at tracking our movements, predicting our thoughts and controlling our behavior, Spielberg’s unnerving vision of the future is fast becoming our reality.

Both worlds—our present-day reality and Spielberg’s celluloid vision of the future—are characterized by widespread surveillance, behavior prediction technologies, data mining, fusion centers, driverless cars, voice-controlled homes, facial recognition systems, cybugs and drones, and predictive policing (pre-crime) aimed at capturing would-be criminals before they can do any damage.

Surveillance cameras are everywhere. Government agents listen in on our telephone calls and read our emails. Political correctness—a philosophy that discourages diversity—has become a guiding principle of modern society.

The courts have shredded the Fourth Amendment’s protections against unreasonable searches and seizures. In fact, SWAT teams battering down doors without search warrants and FBI agents acting as a secret police that investigate dissenting citizens are common occurrences in contemporary America.

We are increasingly ruled by multi-corporations wedded to the police state. Much of the population is either hooked on illegal drugs or ones prescribed by doctors. And bodily privacy and integrity has been utterly eviscerated by a prevailing view that Americans have no rights over what happens to their bodies during an encounter with government officials, who are allowed to search, seize, strip, scan, spy on, probe, pat down, taser, and arrest any individual at any time and for the slightest provocation.

All of this has come about with little more than a whimper from an oblivious American populace largely comprised of nonreaders and television and internet zombies, but we have been warned about such an ominous future in novels and movies for years.

The following 15 films may be the best representation of what we now face as a society.

Fahrenheit 451 (1966). Adapted from Ray Bradbury’s novel and directed by Francois Truffaut, this film depicts a futuristic society in which books are banned, and firemen ironically are called on to burn contraband books—451 Fahrenheit being the temperature at which books burn. Montag is a fireman who develops a conscience and begins to question his book burning. This film is an adept metaphor for our obsessively politically correct society where virtually everyone now pre-censors speech. Here, a brainwashed people addicted to television and drugs do little to resist governmental oppressors.

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968). The plot of Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece, as based on an Arthur C. Clarke short story, revolves around a space voyage to Jupiter. The astronauts soon learn, however, that the fully automated ship is orchestrated by a computer system—known as HAL 9000—which has become an autonomous thinking being that will even murder to retain control. The idea is that at some point in human evolution, technology in the form of artificial intelligence will become autonomous and human beings will become mere appendages of technology. In fact, at present, we are seeing this development with massive databases generated and controlled by the government that are administered by such secretive agencies as the National Security Agency and sweep all websites and other information devices collecting information on average citizens. We are being watched from cradle to grave.

Planet of the Apes (1968). Based on Pierre Boulle’s novel, astronauts crash on a planet where apes are the masters and humans are treated as brutes and slaves. While fleeing from gorillas on horseback, astronaut Taylor is shot in the throat, captured and housed in a cage. From there, Taylor begins a journey wherein the truth revealed is that the planet was once controlled by technologically advanced humans who destroyed civilization. Taylor’s trek to the ominous Forbidden Zone reveals the startling fact that he was on planet earth all along. Descending into a fit of rage at what he sees in the final scene, Taylor screams: “We finally really did it. You maniacs! You blew it up! Damn you.” The lesson is obvious, but will we listen? The script, although rewritten, was initially drafted by Rod Serling and retains Serling’s Twilight Zone-ish ending.

THX 1138 (1970). George Lucas’ directorial debut, this is a somber view of a dehumanized society totally controlled by a police state. The people are force-fed drugs to keep them passive, and they no longer have names but only letter/number combinations such as THX 1138. Any citizen who steps out of line is quickly brought into compliance by robotic police equipped with “pain prods”—electro-shock batons. Sound like tasers?

A Clockwork Orange (1971). Director Stanley Kubrick presents a future ruled by sadistic punk gangs and a chaotic government that cracks down on its citizens sporadically. Alex is a violent punk who finds himself in the grinding, crushing wheels of injustice. This film may accurately portray the future of western society that grinds to a halt as oil supplies diminish, environmental crises increase, chaos rules, and the only thing left is brute force.

Soylent Green (1973). Set in a futuristic overpopulated New York City, the people depend on synthetic foods manufactured by the Soylent Corporation. A policeman investigating a murder discovers the grisly truth about what soylent green is really made of. The theme is chaos where the world is ruled by ruthless corporations whose only goal is greed and profit. Sound familiar?

Blade Runner (1982). In a 21st century Los Angeles, a world-weary cop tracks down a handful of renegade “replicants” (synthetically produced human slaves). Life is now dominated by mega-corporations, and people sleepwalk along rain-drenched streets. This is a world where human life is cheap, and where anyone can be exterminated at will by the police (or blade runners). Based upon a Philip K. Dick novel, this exquisite Ridley Scott film questions what it means to be human in an inhuman world.

Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984). The best adaptation of Orwell’s dark tale, this film visualizes the total loss of freedom in a world dominated by technology and its misuse, and the crushing inhumanity of an omniscient state. The government controls the masses by controlling their thoughts, altering history and changing the meaning of words. Winston Smith is a doubter who turns to self-expression through his diary and then begins questioning the ways and methods of Big Brother before being re-educated in a most brutal fashion.

Brazil (1985). Sharing a similar vision of the near future as 1984 and Franz Kafka’s novel The Trial, this is arguably director Terry Gilliam’s best work, one replete with a merging of the fantastic and stark reality. Here, a mother-dominated, hapless clerk takes refuge in flights of fantasy to escape the ordinary drabness of life. Caught within the chaotic tentacles of a police state, the longing for more innocent, free times lies behind the vicious surface of this film.

They Live (1988). John Carpenter’s bizarre sci-fi social satire action film assumes the future has already arrived. John Nada is a homeless person who stumbles across a resistance movement and finds a pair of sunglasses that enables him to see the real world around him. What he discovers is a world controlled by ominous beings who bombard the citizens with subliminal messages such as “obey” and “conform.” Carpenter manages to make an effective political point about the underclass—that is, everyone except those in power. The point: we, the prisoners of our devices, are too busy sucking up the entertainment trivia beamed into our brains and attacking each other up to start an effective resistance movement.

The Matrix (1999). The story centers on a computer programmer Thomas A. Anderson, secretly a hacker known by the alias “Neo,” who begins a relentless quest to learn the meaning of “The Matrix”—cryptic references that appear on his computer. Neo’s search leads him to Morpheus who reveals the truth that the present reality is not what it seems and that Anderson is actually living in the future—2199. Humanity is at war against technology which has taken the form of intelligent beings, and Neo is actually living in The Matrix, an illusionary world that appears to be set in the present in order to keep the humans docile and under control. Neo soon joins Morpheus and his cohorts in a rebellion against the machines that use SWAT team tactics to keep things under control.

Minority Report (2002). Based on a short story by Philip K. Dick and directed by Steven Spielberg, the film offers a special effect-laden, techno-vision of a futuristic world in which the government is all-seeing, all-knowing and all-powerful. And if you dare to step out of line, dark-clad police SWAT teams will bring you under control. The setting is 2054 where PreCrime, a specialized police unit, apprehends criminals before they can commit the crime. Captain Anderton is the chief of the Washington, DC, PreCrime force which uses future visions generated by “pre-cogs” (mutated humans with precognitive abilities) to stop murders. Soon Anderton becomes the focus of an investigation when the precogs predict he will commit a murder. But the system can be manipulated. This film raises the issue of the danger of technology operating autonomously—which will happen eventually if it has not already occurred. To a hammer, all the world looks like a nail. In the same way, to a police state computer, we all look like suspects. In fact, before long, we all may be mere extensions or appendages of the police state—all suspects in a world commandeered by machines.

V for Vendetta (2006). This film depicts a society ruled by a corrupt and totalitarian government where everything is run by an abusive secret police. A vigilante named V dons a mask and leads a rebellion against the state. The subtext here is that authoritarian regimes through repression create their own enemies—that is, terrorists—forcing government agents and terrorists into a recurring cycle of violence. And who is caught in the middle? The citizens, of course. This film has a cult following among various underground political groups such as Anonymous, whose members wear the same Guy Fawkes mask as that worn by V.

Children of Men (2006). This film portrays a futuristic world without hope since humankind has lost its ability to procreate. Civilization has descended into chaos and is held together by a military state and a government that attempts to keep its totalitarian stronghold on the population. Most governments have collapsed, leaving Great Britain as one of the few remaining intact societies. As a result, millions of refugees seek asylum only to be rounded up and detained by the police. Suicide is a viable option as a suicide kit called Quietus is promoted on billboards and on television and newspapers. But hope for a new day comes when a woman becomes inexplicably pregnant.

Land of the Blind (2006). In this dark political satire, tyrannical rulers are overthrown by new leaders who prove to be just as evil as their predecessors. Maximilian II is a demented fascist ruler of a troubled land named Everycountry who has two main interests: tormenting his underlings and running his country’s movie industry. Citizens who are perceived as questioning the state are sent to “re-education camps” where the state’s concept of reality is drummed into their heads. Joe, a prison guard, is emotionally moved by the prisoner and renowned author Thorne and eventually joins a coup to remove the sadistic Maximilian, replacing him with Thorne. But soon Joe finds himself the target of the new government.

All of these films—and the writers who inspired them—understood what many Americans, caught up in their partisan, flag-waving, zombified states, are still struggling to come to terms with: that there is no such thing as a government organized for the good of the people. Even the best intentions among those in government inevitably give way to the desire to maintain power and control at all costs.

Eventually, as I make clear in my book Battlefield America: The War on the American People and in its fictional counterpart The Erik Blair Diaries, even the sleepwalking masses (who remain convinced that all of the bad things happening in the police state—the police shootings, the police beatings, the raids, the roadside strip searches—are happening to other people) will have to wake up.

Sooner or later, the things happening to other people will start happening to us.

When that painful reality sinks in, it will hit with the force of a SWAT team crashing through your door, a taser being aimed at your stomach, and a gun pointed at your head. And there will be no channel to change, no reality to alter, and no manufactured farce to hide behind.

As George Orwell warned, “If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face forever.”

Freemasons, Secret Societies, Conspiracies, Consciousness & the Hidden Masters: An Interview with Gary Lachman

An overlooked but powerful current is flowing in our time. It’s found in a small group of writers and thinkers who are trying to overcome the materialism and rationalism of the present age and rediscover the perennial truths that lie behind all religion. These writers are grappling with the occult and esoteric paths of the past and present. They’re trying to explore these movements without falling into either credulity or blinkered scepticism. They include Jay Kinney, founder of Gnosis magazine and author of The Masonic Myth; Mitch Horowitz, a New York book editor whose own works include Occult America and One Simple Idea: How Positive Thinking Reshaped Modern Life; and Erik Davis, author of TechGnosis and Nomad Codes: Adventures in Modern Esoterica.

    In this small but distinguished company is Gary Lachman. He started out in the 1970s in the New York rock scene as one of the original members of the groundbreaking New Wave band Blondie. In 1996 he moved to London, where he established himself as a full-time writer, contributing to publications such as Fortean Times, The Guardian, and The Times Literary Supplement.

    Since 2001 Gary has produced a steady stream of books, including Turn Off Your Mind: The Mystic Sixties and the Dark Side of the Age of Aquarius; The Secret History of Consciousness; A Dark Muse: A History of the Occult; and Politics and the Occult: The Right, the Left, and the Radically Unseen. In recent years he has published biographies of major esoteric figures including P.D. Ouspensky, Emanuel Swedenborg, Rudolf Steiner, Carl Jung, and H.P. Blavatsky (see his interview in New Dawn 137).

    Gary’s latest work, published in December 2015 by Tarcher/Penguin, is The Secret Teachers of the Western World, a monumental work that unveils the esoteric masters who have shaped the intellectual development of the West, from Pythagoras and Zoroaster to little-known twentieth-century figures such as Jean Gebser and René Schwaller de Lubicz.

    In June 2015 I conducted an e-mail interview with Gary about secret currents in the Western tradition.

RICHARD SMOLEY (RS): Many people have a sense, however dim, that what is going on in the news is only the thinnest skin upon a sea of struggles and forces that we can barely conceive of. Would you agree with this assessment?

GARY LACHMAN (GL): I suspect that at most times what we are aware of is only a selection of what is actually taking place. I mean this in the broadest sense possible. In terms of the media, it’s reasonable to assume there are a variety of filters in place that result in an edited version of things getting to us. But then there are people who devote their energies to ‘uncovering’ the truth and ‘revealing’ the facts about this or that event. It does strike me that one could get lost in attempting to track down the ‘truth’ about things, in terms of the political, economic, social situation. I mean conspiracy theorists who pursue an elusive solution to the mystery of who ‘really’ is in power and what ‘really’ happened in this or that situation.

I think it is important to be discriminating about what we accept from our sources and to be aware that every source has its bias. Personally, I am more interested in the kind of things that are outside this kind of ‘hermeneutics of suspicion’, in the philosopher Paul Ricoeur’s phrase. I mean philosophy, thought, etc. I think it’s always a good time to pursue the good, the true, and the beautiful, whoever is running the show. I also think there is less covert control than some people believe, but it seems de rigueur nowadays to feel that everything we see on the news is false. The show itself is ultimately unimportant. It is an unavoidable nuisance that we nevertheless need to be aware of in order to pursue our aims.

RS: Novelist Ishmael Reed wrote, “Beneath or behind all political and cultural warfare lies a struggle between secret societies.” How much truth do you think there is in this statement?

GL: Well, I don’t know. I first came across it, as many people did, in Robert Anton Wilson and Bob Shea’s conspiracy fantasy Illuminatus. Are there really secret societies at work, manipulating events and controlling the world? If there are, they don’t seem to be doing a particular good job of it.

I think that at different times there have been societies or groups of people who have worked together to effect some change or introduce some idea into the societies of their time. I talk about some of them in my new book, The Secret Teachers of the Western World. But these were relatively small groups who were active at a certain time, and when you look at what they were doing, the aura of mystery and sensation around them being ‘secret’ dissolves. That isn’t what is important about them. Take the Fedeli d’Amore of Dante’s time and of whom Dante was a member. They weren’t secret in the way that we think of Skull and Bones or that kind of thing (and I should say here that my book isn’t about that kind of secret group). But they were a relatively private group of poets who wanted to introduce ideas about the divine feminine or Sophia into the consciousness of their time. They were more like what G.I. Gurdjieff and P.D. Ouspensky mean when they talk about the ‘inner circle of humanity’ or ‘esoteric school’. I’m not saying the Fedeli d’Amore were agents of esoteric schools, but that their objectives and practice were like theirs, rather than some cabal of powerful individuals directing events from behind the scenes, which is how secret societies are popularly imagined to be.

In one sense I think conspiracy consciousness is a good sign, in the way that Jung said neuroses were, as an attempt by the psyche to deal with a problem. It shows that we have a hunger for meaning. We prefer feeling that someone is in charge, even if we don’t know who that is, to feeling that no one is and that everything is chance and arbitrary. The hunger for meaning is good; it’s the means of satisfying it that I find questionable. We are purposive beings who seek out patterns and meanings. The mainstream narratives – religion, progress – no longer satisfy our appetite for meaning, and so we seek it elsewhere. One of the ideas of the book is that the meaning is there, but we won’t find it by looking for it outside ourselves.

RS: One period in which occult orders were especially influential was the eighteenth century, in which lodges like the Freemasons played a crucial role in transforming the old feudal and ecclesiastical order into the modern world. Do you have any thoughts or insights about this development?

GL: Freemasonry was a very important means for some fundamental ideas about modernity to be disseminated. I mean ideas about tolerance, social justice, democracy, individual worth regardless of social or economic rank. It was the spread of these ideas through different lodges that helped prepare the eighteenth-century zeitgeist for the radical changes that happened with the American and French revolutions. It is a mistake, though, to think, with Abbé Barruel and more recent writers on the Masonic influence on these events, that Freemasonry arranged or stage-managed them. There were Masons on both sides of the American Revolution, and the Illuminati – the real society, not the popular romanticised idea of it that’s present on the Internet – wasn’t ‘responsible’ for the French Revolution. The ideas that informed Adam Weishaupt’s short-lived and ineffective Masonic offshoot certainly were active forces in the revolution, and they were spread through Masonic lodges. But I think we have to credit the zeitgeist more than Weishaupt and Co. for the storming of the Bastille. In fact in one sense we could say Freemasonry itself was a product of the shift in consciousness that began around that time.

RS: Your new book is entitled The Secret Teachers of the Western World. If they were secret, how have they been able to have such influence?

GL: Well, again, my secret teachers aren’t necessarily secret in the sense that no one knows about them. I mean, if they were that secret, how could I know about them? One can be a secret teacher by teaching secrets, or one can be a secret teacher in the sense that the influence and importance of your ideas haven’t been recognised or have been misunderstood. Or you can be secret in another sense, as with several important thinkers who have been marginalised or don’t fit into the standard model of Western consciousness. It’s a broad term referring to a variable status rather than specific group of people. Jesus Christ, for example, is one of my secret teachers, and most people know about him. But there is a whole school of thought that argues that what we have accepted as Christianity really has little to do with the original teachings associated with Jesus. The Gnostics, for example, are thought to be more in line with what Jesus actually taught then the Petrine church of Rome.

Or take Madame Blavatsky. If people know about her at all, she is chalked up to be an entertaining but fraudulent nineteenth-century spiritualist with a lot of chutzpah. But she was enormously influential on the modern world, in everything from art, religion, and science to what became known as the ‘counterculture’. I am not saying that everything she said about science or religion is ‘true’. That’s not the point. True or not – and she is more often on the ball than you might think – her ideas were tremendously influential, and I am amazed that feminists haven’t appropriated her. I suspect the occult connotations put them off. She isn’t secret, but her influence is not generally recognised.

I should say the central idea of my book is that the whole Hermetic, esoteric tradition is the victim of a war going on inside our heads. I mean the rivalry between our two cerebral hemispheres. One of the inspirations for the book came from reading Iain McGilchrist’s very important work The Master and His Emissary, which is about the left and right brain and the differences between them. Briefly put, McGilchrist revamps the left/right brain discussion by showing that the difference between them is not in what they do – as was originally believed – but in how they do it. They respond to the world in very different ways, and the way they present the world is also very different. In the simplest sense, the right brain presents a total picture of the world. Its mode of consciousness is relational, connective, holistic. It presents what McGilchrist calls the ‘big picture’, the overall pattern, but its picture is fuzzy, vague. It works with metaphor, symbols, and is focused on the living character of being. It is aware of implicit meanings, meanings that we know and feel but cannot express explicitly. (Think of our appreciation of music: we know a Beethoven string quartet means something, but we’d be hard pressed to say exactly what.)

The left brain is aimed at breaking up the big picture into smaller bits and pieces that it can manipulate. Its main function, as Henri Bergson said long ago, is to help us survive. It reduces the living, flowing whole presented by the right brain to a kind of map that allows us to manoeuvre through the world effectively. It’s interested in the trees; the right brain is interested in the forest. One looks through a microscope, the other at a panorama.

Both are necessary, and for the most part each gets along with the other in a system of checks and balances, each inhibiting the other’s excesses. But McGilchrist argues – convincingly, I believe – that in the last few centuries the left has increasingly gained an upper hand against the right and has, in a sense, gone on a smear campaign against it. One expression of right brain thinking that the left brain targeted was the Hermetic, esoteric tradition, which was cast into disrepute with the rise of mechanical science – itself an exemplar of left brain thinking. With the dismissal of the esoteric tradition it was transformed into what the historian James Webb called ‘rejected knowledge.’ What my secret teachers teach is this rejected knowledge.

RS: Of the figures that you would include among these secret teachers, which do you consider the most influential?

GL: That’s difficult to say, and I should point out that the book isn’t a ‘top ten’ or ‘ten best’ list or something like that. Plato is certainly one of the most influential; in many ways the esoteric, Hermetic roads all lead to him. He is believed to have ‘gone to school’ in Egypt, and whatever he learned there is supposed to inform his philosophy. But whether Plato studied in Egypt or not, his ideas about the Forms, the ideal essences of which the physical realities of time and space are merely shadows, is certainly at the heart of the esoteric tradition. And Platonism informed Christianity, Hermeticism, Gnosticism, and other esoteric teachings. We can argue with and reject or accept different aspects or elements of his philosophy, but I would say that for the West, Plato is certainly one of, if not the most, significant source of esoteric thought, or thought in general. Alfred North Whitehead said long ago that all Western philosophy is but a series of footnotes to Plato.

In saying this I’m not saying I think Plato is the ‘best’. My own philosophical background is more in Nietzsche, Bergson, Whitehead, William James, and existentialism. But Plato is still there too.

RS: Which of these figures do you admire the most?

GL: I’m not quite sure how to answer that. There are plenty of admirable figures in the book, as well as more questionable ones, and also some martyrs, like Hypatia the Neoplatonist, and the Persian theosopher Suhrawardi, both of whom fell victim to religious persecution, as well as truly secret teachers like the so-called Dionysius the Areopagite who welded Neoplatonism to Christianity. We do not know who he really was, just as we have no names for the Hermeticists of ancient Alexandria.

I can say who has been an influence on me. One of first writers on esotericism that I read was P.D. Ouspensky. His books Tertium Organum and A New Model of the Universe made a big impact on me, even before I read In Search of the Miraculous and became interested in Gurdjieff. I first read these books forty years ago, and Ouspensky seemed a model of the kind of thinker I wanted to be: he combined a romantic openness to ideas, and poetry and art with a rigorous critical mind and he remains the best writer from what I call the ‘golden age of modern esotericism’, which took place during the 1920s, when people like Ouspensky, Gurdjieff, Rudolf Steiner, Jung, Crowley, and others were all active. Again, I’m not saying Ouspensky is the ‘best’ – that’s as pointless as arguing about who’s the best guitarist. But reading his books excited me and made me want to learn more. I tend to like figures that combine imagination with critical thinking, which we can see as the right and left brain working together, which is another theme running through the book.

RS: One theme that you advance in your new book is that the cosmos is a living, conscious being, and that we need to rediscover that fact. To what extent do you think this rediscovery is actually happening in the world today?

GL: It seems some form of that idea has been revived and presented in a variety of different ways throughout the last century and into our own. Bergson argued a form of it as did Whitehead. In the nineteenth century we have Gustav Fechner, who wrote about the Earth as a living being well in advance of James Lovelock. The philosopher David Chalmers has argued for a kind of panpsychism, meaning that in some sense, the entire universe is conscious. What headway this idea has made in altering our ‘standard model’ of the cosmos is unclear. We’d have to interview lots of scientists, I guess, and go through the numbers. I think more people today have some sense of it than, say, in the nineteenth century – at least the kind of mechanistic picture of the world popular then is less so now. Of course, any scientist who takes the idea literally and talks about it is subject to the scorn of his peers. But that too is an expression of the rivalry between the two modes of thinking. The ‘hard’ left brain makes fun of the ‘soft’ right brain’s ‘need’ to see a nice, cozy universe that cares about him, while he shows how ‘tough’ he is by saying that he doesn’t need that and prefers the ‘truth’ about the cold, indifferent cosmos. I write about this in an earlier book, The Caretakers of the Cosmos, where the idea of a living cosmos is a central theme.

RS: Thirty or forty years ago, it seemed possible to believe that we were on the verge of a new age of rising consciousness and compassion. It’s a little harder to believe this now. How do you personally respond to hopes and dreams of a coming new age (however imagined)?

GL: I’m not that keen on predicting a new age. Western history is littered with them. I think the current pessimism, or, more accurately, nihilism is a kind of ‘sound barrier’ that our culture, our civilisation, has to break through. Nietzsche predicted it at the end of the nineteenth century. I think we have somewhat naïve ideas about a new age. I believe there are shifts in consciousness. One of the thinkers I refer to in the book and in others is the little-known German philosopher Jean Gebser, who talks about different ‘mutations’ of consciousness happening throughout history. But these come about through our own participation in them; I mean we are active players, not passive recipients of something happening in the stars or according to some ancient teachings.

The real new age will come round when we learn how to master our own consciousness. This means coming to understand it. This takes hard, determined work. I don’t think the new age will come about because of nice thoughts or fun raves or because of a conference or a festival. It will start to appear in individuals who have an obscure hunger for some purpose higher or more demanding than what our ordinary life can provide. These types embody in embryonic form a new consciousness that demands a new kind of inner freedom.

We tend to think of freedom as liberation, as being free from something. The new types want a more significant freedom, the freedom for some purpose greater than just fulfilling their individual needs. In The Caretakers of the Cosmos I borrow a term from the Russian existential philosopher Nikolai Berdyaev and talk of a ‘creative minority’. These are the individuals who quietly and solitarily confront the demands of the new consciousness emerging within them. We tend to think that a new form of consciousness will be lots of fun and full of ecstasy. But more often people experiencing a different kind of consciousness, with different needs and appetites, tend to feel like misfits and have to go through a long struggle to actualise their possibilities. I have a very evolutionary way of thinking. I feel that any important development at first makes life more difficult for those in whom it occurs. Those who can get through the initial difficulties develop a strength that will help them impose the new vision on the world around them.

RS: Which living people do you consider to be most important and impressive in fostering this higher awareness?

GL: The most important one for me has been Colin Wilson, who sadly died at the end of 2013 at the age of eighty-two. I have been a dedicated Wilson reader since 1975, when I first read The Occult. After that I tracked down and read as many of his books as I could find. I am in fact preparing to write a book about his work and ideas, which more or less form the basis for much of my own writing. Wilson spent a lifetime in a determined analysis of consciousness and developed what I find to be a very convincing argument for why our consciousness is how it is and what we can do to intensify it. It isn’t for everyone, but I personally have got the most out of following his leads.

EUGENICS: ‘The Depopulation Blueprint’, Viruses, Vaccines, VAIDS & WWIII – By Mathew Maavak

I recently narrated how the Great Reset was essentially a Great Purge against humanity. However, there remains one sine qua non for the Great Reset. This relates to the fate of national militaries and secret services worldwide.

As our global systems are continually undermined to facilitate the Great Reset, national security apparatuses stand in the way. Secret services with their insider knowledge may derail the globalist project while the rank and file of militaries may heed rising nationalist sentiments to overthrow their corrupt governments. How will the global oligarchy pre-empt this clear and present danger? One clue was indirectly provided by Prof Luc Montagnier, who won the 2008 Nobel Prize for medicine over his discovery of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

During a late-January anti-mandate rally in Italy, Montagnier reiterated the claim that all COVID-19 vaccines were toxic and that they would invariably cause a variety of medical catastrophes down the line. Three weeks later, Montagnier succumbed to a heart attack at the ripe old age of 89. But not before the following quote attributed to him went viral:

“Those who received the third dose should go to the laboratory and take an AIDS test. The result may surprise you. Then sue your government.”

Whether one was subjected to the mRNA or adenovirus-based vaccine, the cumulative effects on the body will be anything but sanguine. According to researchers who have been systematically purged from the public domain by Big Tech and the mainstream media, COVID-19 vaccines will eventually suppress and destroy the body’s natural immune system, leading to conditions that parallel the dreaded AIDS. There is even a term coined for this condition: Vaccine Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome or VAIDS.

Now here is another bombshell: the Sars-cov-2 virus, which allegedly causes COVID-19, has not been isolated yet. It was not isolated when the “outbreak” began in Dec 2020; not when the vaccines were rolled out; and certainly not at the time of writing. Big Pharma relied on in silico modelling (computerized simulation) of an alleged virus – replete with laboratory-contrived HIV and malaria inserts – to push its vaccines on a dazed global population.  A few African leaders baulked at this absurdity. It was even alleged that the late Tanzanian president John Magufuli had instructed his secret services to dispatch samples from a goat, a papaya and a quail for testing at a WHO-run laboratory. All three sample groups tested positive for COVID-19!

If Montagnier and his fellow dissident experts are right on this issue, a vaccine-induced Great Die-Off may soon be on the cards. We are no longer hypothesizing about the deaths of 1-2 billion vaccinated people by 2030 but rather a mass culling approaching 95% of mankind.  The Georgia Guidestones comes to my mind here. It advocates capping the global population at under 500 million “in perpetual balance with nature”. With the rapid evolution of technology since the Guidestones were erected in 1980, this figure can be revised downwards to a mere 250 million. (How this revised figure was approximated deserves a separate, dedicated commentary altogether).

If this estimation sounds overly alarming, do check out the rising number of miscarriages, neurodegenerative maladies, cancers, cardiac problems, and shingles ad infinitum worldwide. Pfizer’s list of possible adverse effects from its vaccine now total nine pages and these only scratch the surface. Dr Shankara Chetty, a vocal South African medical expert, has persistently warned that COVID-19 vaccines were nothing but bioengineered  “slow-death” poisons.  All over the world, top-flight athletes, government officials and newscasters are dropping down like flies – often on live TV. Children are getting heart attacks before the age of 10! 

This “slow-death” will not go unnoticed by military personnel worldwide or by their respective intelligence services. Not when their own family members are eventually stricken. Big Tech and the media, along with their army of perversely designated “fact-checkers” may pin adverse reactions on climate change or some other poppycock. Insurance companies however may not honour death and disability claims from the vaccinated. It is simply beyond their capacity. Recently, a court in France reportedly ruled that deaths attributable to the vaccine were tantamount to acts of suicide. The ruling read:

“The side effects of the experimental vaccine are published and the deceased could not claim to have known nothing about it when he voluntarily took the vaccine. There is no law or mandate in France that compelled him to be vaccinated. Hence his death is essentially suicide.”

Good luck in seeking recourse from various national compensation funds that were established to deal with “extremely rare” side effects. Everyone who was “mandated” to take the vaccine had to sign a consent form. This effectively empowers insurance companies to pin any future medical conditions on the vaccine. 

Conditions are therefore ripe for a global social upheaval of unprecedented proportions. This would have occurred with or without the “pandemic”—if only one was familiar with various studies that broadly foresaw events of this epoch. 
Culling Global Militaries

The globalist oligarchy had definitely foreseen the perils ahead. A mass slow-death caused by bioengineered vaccines will inevitably invite retribution from the armed bastions of national sovereignty. Perhaps this was the reason why vaccines were first administered to military personnel worldwide. 

As fears grow over the global ramifications of the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war, few take note that 99.3% of the Ukrainian army is at least double-vaccinated while the figure stands at 95% for its Russian adversaries. By contrast, only 34.9% of Ukrainians and 50.1% of Russians are fully-vaccinated (source: Our World in Data). Vaccination rates for other major militaries should be in the high 90s. And this war began just as governments worldwide were lifting their biosecurity mandates. Is this an uncanny coincidence where one crisis emerges just as another ebbs?

A slow death among military personnel will definitely pose a threat to their governments. There is no better way to rid them than by sparking a series of military conflicts worldwide, beginning in Ukraine. Directed energy weapons may also potentiate with graphene oxide that is present in all COVID-19 vaccines. So far, there are no reports of its usage in the Ukraine-Russia war. The Russian side however has suffered from an unexpectedly high number of casualties. Only time will tell.

The pre-positioned narratives are already in place. According to former US Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, there are 25-30 US-funded biolabs in Ukraine alone and an astonishing 300 worldwide – most of which experiment with lethal pathogens. This is in contravention of Article 1 of the UN Biological Weapons Convention. Government officials on both sides of the Atlantic are ostensibly worried that, in the chaos of war, some pathogens will leak out from a Ukrainian lab and thereby devastate the world.

In any case, a proliferation of military conflicts should be expected over the near future. The famous “two weeks to flatten the curve” mantra has predictably morphed into two years of snowballing totalitarianism. And it all began with an alleged virus that was supposed to herald a new  Black Death. 

As wars and rumours of wars swirl, pension systems worldwide will no longer be able to honour their obligations; supply chains will be irreparably disrupted; food and fuel inflations will dissipate disposable incomes; and hyperinflation will literally cripple societies. A global cyber-takedown of utilities (electricity, water and telecommunications) – which may be conveniently blamed on Russia – will only accelerate the Great Die-off. The disempowered class will be distracted by its immediate survival needs. The coming months and years will make the Great Depression and WWII appear like a walk in a derelict park.

There are no organized human entities left to roll back the multipronged evils besetting the world. I have gamed out various scenarios and there is no light at the end of the globalist tunnel. All that comes to my mind is St. Paul’s exhortation to his Philippian jailor: “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household” (Acts 16:31). For it almost looks as if the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse have been unleashed onto the world.

“There’s something seriously wrong — the world’s financial system is teetering on a knife’s edge,” NYT best-selling author Doug Casey warns me in my latest episode, where we explore real inflation readings and why Casey says you cannot trust the U.S. government’s official outputted figures.

Casey declares that inflation values in the United States range from 15-20%, and are increasing yearly at that rate, which spells bad news for the dollar.

“The U.S. dollar has been at increasing danger for decades and has gotten to a critical level,” he says, promulgating the question – what is the next world reserve currency, and when will the transition happen?

Casey tells me it will happen slowly over a generation and attributes a, “terminally bankrupt,” U.S. government as the culprit for this massive overhaul. The, “[U.S. Government] faces severe danger by digging the deficit hole deeper,” he says, as economic sanctions continue to ramp up in a global effort to combat geopolitical aggression helmed by Russia.

“The digital dollar is going to happen,” the best-selling author of Crisis Investing tells me with full confidence, comparing its creation to Powers of Darkness being at play.

“[It’s] going to be one of the biggest disasters that’s ever been visited upon people,” Casey grimly predicts due to the gradual control governments have had over their respective populations.

“I think we’re going back to gold,” as the most trusted global reserve exchange, Casey continues. “I think it can go a lot higher because there’s going be a panic in gold,” stating it is not cheap, but aligns with a larger theme the gold community has been underscoring to me for a long time… and this transition may be closer than most investors recognize.

Blood of unborn cows used to create lab-grown meat

Lab-grown meat is touted by the elites as an ethical solution for the food supply issues the world is facing. However, lab-grown meat harbors a bloody secret: It uses the blood of unborn cows.

Investigative journalist Tom Philpott touched on this revelation in an article, saying that the use of fetal bovine serum (FBS) obtained from “blood of unborn cow fetuses” is the most likely issue to “hold back a new era” of animal-free meat products becoming ubiquitous in the market. He also pointed out the unethical nature of FBS, saying that cow fetuses are “extracted from their mothers after slaughter.

Philpott argued that the use of FBS to mass-produce artificial meat poses two major issues.

First, FBS is extremely expensive – with the minimum price for a liter costing $1,000. “To break even on expenses, companies would have to sell their cultured meat for about $200,000 per pound,” said the investigative journalist. Second, makers of lab-grown meat cannot market their products as either “slaughter-free” or vegan when a slaughterhouse byproduct – FBS from cow fetuses – is used to create them.

“The FBS-replacement problem, plus other gaping challenges like perfecting machine that can grow cells at industrial scale, means [lab-grown meat] will likely never be economical,” said Philpott.

Still, lab-grown meat is gaining ground in other countries. Philpott cited California-based startup Eat Just, which saw its lab-grown chicken nugget being approved in Singapore back in 2020. According to Eat Just product developer Zachary Tyndall, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) permitted only the breaded, bite-sized lab-grown chicken nugget for sale in the Little Red Dot.

Following its approval by Singaporean authorities, Eat Just’s cultured chicken nuggets were sold in the members-only restaurant 1880, located in the city-state’s southern portion. Eat Just remarked that the nuggets, locally manufactured at Singapore Polytechnic‘s Food Innovation and Research Center, have a shelf life of three months. (Related: TOXINS for VEGANS? Elites: Real meat for me, but not for thee

According to the globalist elites, lab-grown meat is a feasible substitute for protein that does not require slaughtering animals. They are promoting the consumption of cultured meat in first-world countries. Microsoft founder Bill Gates is among them, being an early investor in the artificial beef company Beyond Meat.

Back in February 2021, Gates called on first-world countries to adopt cultured meat instead of the real thing. He told James Temple of the MIT Technology Review: “I do think all rich countries should move to 100 percent synthetic beef. You can get used to the taste difference, and the claim is they’re going to make it taste even better over time. Eventually, that green premium is modest enough that you can sort of change the [behavior] of people or use regulation to totally shift the demand.”

“I don’t think the poorest 80 countries will be eating synthetic meat. [But] the middle-income-and-above countries, I do think it’s possible,” Gates added.

Gates also expressed disappointment over proposals regulating how lab-grown meat is marketed to consumers. “The politics [are challenging.] There are all these bills that say it’s got to be called, basically, lab garbage to be sold. They don’t want us to use the beef label,” he said.

The technology bigwig is alluding to the Real Marketing Edible Artificials Truthfully (Real MEAT) Act, which requires all meat analogs to carry an “imitation” label and a statement on their packages attesting that they do not contain and are not derived from actual meat. The bill was first introduced in 2019 by former Rep. Anthony Brindisi (D-NY) and Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) when the latter was still a congressman. As of writing, however, the bill is still with the House Subcommittee on Livestock and Foreign Agriculture.

MIND GAMES: ‘Automatic Motivations’, Are Governments Across The “Five Eyes” Using Hypnosis Against Citizens?

Early on in his January 6th speech commemorating the supposed “insurrection” in the US capitol, President Joe Biden made the following remarks:

“The Bible tells us that we shall know the truth and the truth shall make us free. We shall know the truth. Close your eyes. Go back to that day. What do you see? Rioters rampaging, waving for the first time inside this Capitol, the confederate flag that symbolized the cause to destroy America, to rip us apart. Even during the Civil War, that never, ever happened. But it happened here in 2021.”

Despite the appearance of a seemingly simple set of vague but violent platitudes, in the few brief sentences above and those that follow we can identify the use of various targeted behavioral science and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques. These include “re-framing,” hypnotic “trance-formations,” “priming,” “anchors,” and “visualizations.” However, this example is no exception.

As has been extensively demonstrated and documented, under the auspices of their COVID-19 pandemic response, governments and senior public policy makers across the “Five Eyes” have been making aggressive use of NLP, hypnosis, and “behavioral nudging” in virtually all aspects of public messaging. Using the latest insights from the fields of social psychology and behavioral science, governments and policy makers over the last two have run a series of public messaging campaigns designed to drastically change the thoughts and behaviors of citizens without their conscious knowledge or consent. This was done through the targeting of what behavioral scientists and social engineers call “automatic motivations” i.e. the unconscious mind.

From “priming” the population into incrementally sacrificing bodily-autonomy, the subtle calibration of NLP “timelines” as a means of emotionally locking people into indefinite commitments (two weeks became two years), to targeting people’s empathy and innate desire to “protect loved ones,” and predicating employment and one’s livelihood on the condition citizens submit to experimental medical treatments, what made these radical policies not only thinkable but achievable was the covert use of “behavioral nudging” and NLP framing techniques in official COVID-19 public messaging.

Since previous articles have already detailed how these techniques were applied throughout the pandemic and how they continue to be used to frame the climate crisis narrative, let us consider the January 6th speech as a new crystalized display of the vast array of techniques now systematically used against populations across the Five Eyes web. Let us examine these techniques with an eye to finally breaking the spell.

Rioters rampaging, waving for the first time inside this Capitol, the confederate flag that symbolized the cause to destroy America, to rip us apart. Even during the Civil War, that never, ever happened. But it happened here in 2021.

A mob, breaking windows, kicking in doors, breaching the Capitol, American flags on poles being used as weapons as spears, fire extinguishers being thrown at the heads of police officers. Before instructing viewers to “close your eyes,” the preceding sentences made use of the words “the Bible” and “truth.” The word “truth” was repeated three times. Doing so ensured “the Bible” and “truth” were prominently placed in the listener’s psyche right before the incantation began. Listeners were then instructed to “Close your eyes. What do you see?” The instructions were followed by a guided visualization in which people were asked to imagine “rioters rampaging,” “the confederate flag” a “Civil War,” and America ripping itself apart.

The questions “What do you see?” and “what else do you see?” also served as what hypnotists call “embedded commands” (written in bold). Additionally, “what else do you see” functions as a “bind.” For, the images of insurrection are never called into question, only how many. This creates the “illusion of choice”—a common tactic used throughout MSM narratives.

The guided visualization included a good deal of “frames” and suggestive imagery, including mobs breaking windows, “American flags on poles being used as weapons,” fire extinguishers being thrown at the heads of police officers, and ostensible Trump supporters stomping on the heads of the very law enforcement officials they supposedly supported.

Thus, listeners were “primed” with the word “truth” and then invited to engage in a “visualization” where they would be “anchored” to a set of violent images. In essence, the statement attempted to instill “false memories”[1] into the minds of the audience such that going forward the suggestion of similar “insurrections” might serve as an automatic trigger or “cue.” Not surprisingly, the same language was used to suggest recent Canadian trucker protests shared parallels with the supposed January 6th “insurrection.”

These various techniques and modern forms of hypnotic language can be traced back to the work of hypnotist and NLP pioneer Richard Bandler, his study of Milton Erickson’s work, Gregory Bateson, and others. Notably, Bandler describes Ericksonian hypnotic language as “artfully vague, but systemically so.” For, language that is “artfully vague” allows one to use ambiguity, the gaps in descriptions, and the overall power of hypnotic suggestion to create the appearance that listeners are freely providing their own meaning and naturally filling in the gaps—the “illusion of choice.” All this has the effect of solidifying beliefs into the “deep structures” of the psyche. Sensitivity and suggestibility to these elements can then be heightened by increasing the level of fear, anger, or confusion.

Going back to Joe Biden’s speech, regardless of whether the president’s descriptions of events on January 6th were true, priming listeners with words like “the Bible” and “truth,” instructing them to close their eyes, giving various suggestions and asking them to visualize a set of emotionally-charged images in their imagination with the purpose of creating an “altered-state” or “trance,” and then finally suggesting the statements as true has the effect of “anchoring” the images in the mind.

As a general example of anchoring, a hypnotherapist or NLP practitioner may assist a patient in overcoming a phobia by first instructing them to close their eyes and imagine a previous time in which they found themselves in a state of complete calm, ease, and safety i.e. an “altered state.” The practitioner can then have their client describe the scene, its sights, sounds, and the many sensations associated with that particular memory. For example, imagine a warm beach with the sea-salted breeze gently blowing around you while you relax under an umbrella; now, you can hear the clear and gentle waves crashing on the shore, with the sound of happy children playing and giggling in the background.

Since memories have a physical component, including muscle memory, by invoking a particular memory or image and having them visualize a scene, clients can be made to feel the sensations felt in the original experience. Once the scene and those memories appear in the body, an “altered-state” or “trance-formation” begins. The hypnotherapist or NLP practitioner can then proceed to guide a client towards phobia-triggering images or traumatic events, with the safe, warm, and happy anchored images functioning as a “resource.” Clients can then be guided into visualizing themselves experiencing the traumatic events or phobia, and acting out the scene in a new and more adaptive way on the stage of their imaginations. Having played out the new scene to completion, the real-world experience of the same phobia-triggering events or trauma is supposed to lose its emotional charge.

In this respect, we might consider how “going back to normal” was presented in the context of COVID-19 restrictions. For many, “going back to normal” likely served as an effective anchor. People could imagine those easier times when they could freely travel wherever they wanted whenever they wanted, leave their homes as they pleased, or see loved ones at any time.

Using the idea of “going back to normal,” many may have felt a sense of freedom, the weight lifting off their shoulders, but then had those recalled memories followed by the subsequent announcement of new restrictions, or new crises. Regardless, suggestions of “going back to normal” and regaining one’s freedom were framed as a question of mass compliance with government “guidance.” Messages were consistently designed such that images, feelings and suggestions of “freedom” were quickly tied to compliance, with the “sequence” of commands and images being key. For, the right sequence of thoughts and images can drastically impact how someone receives a given set of messages or information, and whether they successfully enter an altered. These “altered states” are what allow a messenger or hypnotist to influence how subsequent information, instructions, or commands are internalized, and consequently, how someone behaves.

Not coincidentally, all of the techniques described above appeared in the recent January 6th speech. As mentioned, many of these techniques can be found in their most modern form in the work of hypnotist and NLP co-creator, Richard Bandler. Bandler himself was a student and collaborator of none other than linguist/anthropologist of MK-Ultra LSD and mind-control notoriety, Gregory Bateson. Notably, in the 1960s Bateson was the director of research at the Veterans Hospital in Palo Alto, California. There, he oversaw many MK-Ultra experiments using mind-altering drugs and hypnosis. As Bandler himself describes in various places throughout his works,[2] Bateson followed Bandler’s work and insights, which now feature prominently in the framing of most big “news” stories in the West, its mainstream media, and in the speeches of many World Economic Forum (WEF) technocrats.

Bateson, along with Aldous Huxley and others took great interest in the use of hypnosis and drug use to induce “altered states,” whether in individuals, large groups, or even “the masses.” British wartime psychiatrist and psychological warfare expert Dr. William Sargant also took great interest in hypnotic phenomenon and the control of altered states and trance, which he wrote about in two well-known works, The Battle for the Mind: How Evangelists, Psychiatrists, Politicians, and Medicine Men Can Change Your Beliefs and Behavior and The Mind Possessed: A Physiology of Possession, Mysticism and Faith Healing.

Take some of Dr. William Sargant’s reflections from his latter 1973 work, The Mind Possessed. The first passage recounts the settings in which hypnosis, altered states, and trance were studied in patients and trauma victims:

“The origin of this book dates back to the Second World War and the treatment of battle neuroses—psychological disorders stemming from horrifying and mentally overwhelming experiences of war. Soldiers who had broken down, in combat or afterwards, sometimes became totally preoccupied by their memories of what had happened to them. In other cases, these memories had been repressed into the subconscious mind but were causing feelings of depression, fatigue, irritability, irrational fears or nightmares.” (Id., p. 3)

Commenting on the direct use of hypnosis, Sargant wrote:

“A state of heightened suggestibility, intense sensitivity to one’s surroundings and a readiness to obey commands even when they go against the grain, is one of the most striking characteristics of hypnotized behavior, and hypnosis has given its name to the ‘hypnoid’ phase of brain activity. […] this phase can be caused by stress and creates a state of greatly increased suggestibility in which a human being uncritically adopts ideas to which they would not normally be open. Breuer was interested in this phenomenon at the end of the last century and his findings, reported in a masterly chapter which he contributed to a joint book with Freud, were repeatedly confirmed in our experience with drug abreactions during the war. Breuer begins by quoting Moebius as saying, in 1890: ‘The necessary condition for the (pathogenic) operation of ideas is, on the one hand, an innate—that is, hysterical—disposition and, on the other, a special frame of mind… It must resemble a state of hypnosis: it must correspond to some kind of consciousness in which an emerging idea meets with no resistance from any other—in which, so to speak, the field is clear for the first comer. We know that a state of this kind can be brought about not only by hypnotism but by emotional shock (fight, anger, etc.) and by exhausting factors (sleeplessness, hunger, and so on).’” (Id., p. 32)

In another revealing passage from his book, in chapter six Sargant writes:

“An actor, who had what he himself described as a ‘histrionic’ temperament, told me after the last war how, as a prisoner of the Japanese, he had to go each day to receive orders from the local Japanese camp commandment. He never knew whether he was going to be beaten up or praised or just ignored. When he was beaten up, which happened frequently, he found that if he could succeed in fixing his thoughts on a certain mountain in Wales, and keep his mind completely concentrated on it, he could often inhibit much of the physical pain of the beating. Pain and other strong sensory impressions can sometimes be completely inhibited in a moment of great crisis, with its heightened state of nervous excitement, and also in states of hypnosis. With the mind entirely focused on some present danger, it is possible to remain unaware that you have been seriously hurt at the time; you only realize it afterwards.” (Id., p. 72-73)

Countless variations on these techniques exist, but they can be easily found adapted in MSM narratives simply by paying attention to the composition of narratives, including the sequences, the “illusions of choice,” embedded commands, and the continuous attempt to shrink reality down to a single point. Despite the seemingly mysterious and magical quality of hypnotic phenomenon, once these techniques are named and consciously identified by the populace, with the basic triggers recognized (fear, danger, confusion, and empathy-targeting messages), much of the “magic” disappears.

Whether it be the WEF’s “Young Global Leaders” or any number of other technocratic Borgs from the WEF Borg Cube gesticulating as they offer up their series of empty platitudes, all essentially follow the same pattern of empty platitudes, hand gestures, and doublespeak inspired by years of research into how to manage and mold what they believe should be an increasingly submissive and suggestible population.

To call the use of these NLP and trance-formation techniques by top government officials subversive is an understatement. However, while some of these techniques may serve as powerful “anchors” and tools for “behavior change,” their “magic” lies in their subtlety. For, one of the key insights from hypnosis is the power of suggestion. Through the use of artfully vague narratives, a target or patient can have the impression of naturally arriving at their conclusions when they are in fact carefully and pre-meditatively framed in order specifically target unconscious processes. Hypnotic sequences, embedded commands, and “illusions of choice” can be very effective, especially when populations are whipped up into emotional frenzies of outrage, fear, or anger.

Doing so gives speakers the ability to disarm the unconscious minds of their listeners and significantly increase their suggestibility. Moreover, with the right use of “anchors,” “cues,” “priming,” and other devices, it even becomes possible to steer the unconscious processes of an unknowing population in real-time. For example, while studies have shown that from the standpoint of medical science masks were virtually ineffective in preventing the spread of COVID-19, from the standpoint of behavioral science and social psychology masks served as very powerful “cues” to enforce “norms,” or what behavioral scientists call “social proof.” Were masking policies to have been jettisoned due to their ineffectiveness as medical interventions, their true effectiveness as behavioral “cues” would have become all the more pronounced, by virtue of how quickly adherence to public safety measures would have waned.

However, when people become consciously aware that such techniques are being used on them, they are likely to become increasingly resistant to any suggestion. On the other hand, if individuals aren’t aware that speakers are attempting to induce trance and place new thoughts into their minds, such techniques can have very powerful effects on even intelligent or educated individuals.

The last two years offer many striking examples of how carefully framed public messaging “incantations” can radically alter the thoughts and behaviors of an unknowing populace. Unfortunately, these techniques are not only being used to “re-frame” the events of January 6th or shape the COVID-19 narrative, they saturate virtually every sphere of public messaging, from healthcare, the environment, “climate change,” and even international banking.

Unfortunately, none of this is new. These are only the latest chapters in a much longer story. Going back to the early twentieth century, just around the time Freud published his Mass Psychology, Walter Lippman was writing about the control of what he termed “Public Opinion.” Lippman defined Public Opinion as “The pictures inside the heads of human beings, the pictures of themselves, of others, of their needs and purposes, and relationship, are their public opinions. Those pictures which are acted upon by groups of people, or by individuals acting in the name of groups, are Public Opinion, with capital letters.”

In his 1922 book, Public Opinion, Lippman was very candid about what determines this “opinion,” writing that it was largely controlled by a:

“Powerful, socially superior, successful, rich urban social set [which] is fundamentally international throughout the Western Hemisphere and in many ways, London is its center. It counts among its membership the most influential people in the world, containing as it does the diplomatic sets, high finance, the upper circles of the army and navy, some princes of the church, the great newspaper proprietors, their wives, mothers, and daughters who wield the scepter of invitation. It is at once a great circle of talk and a real social set.”

Hypnosis, the power of suggestion, and the manipulation of altered states on a mass scale through the use of drugs and heightened sensitivity became key fields of exploration for achieving new levels of precision in what has remained the same essential goal: the control of Public Opinion and “the pictures inside the heads of human beings.”

This “social set” is what we today know as the City of London and Wall Street, its “Five Eyes” intelligence octopus, its web of psychological warfare nodes, and the World Economic Forum.

Despite the elusive nature of this modern form of “trance warfare” and psy-ops, were the techniques employed by these interests to be consciously named and identified by the populace, today’s ruling “social set” would find itself in very much the same position Goethe’s famously hapless “Sorcerer’s Apprentice” found himself in—with its many incantations rendered powerless and a total loss of control over the very monsters they created.

    The engineered assassination of Joe Biden by operators dressed up to look like Russian soldiers, followed by global outrage against Russia and a mad dash into nuclear war. (This also aids the desperate Democrats in getting rid of old Joe before he embarrasses them even further…)
    A large-scale false flag cyber attack on US financial institutions, resulting in an economic collapse and widespread chaos. A cyber attack could also target the US power grid and produce similar results.

In any of these scenarios, the US and NATO are certain to respond with rapid escalation into World War III — a war that inevitably escalates into a nuclear exchange of some kind.
Planetary-scale genocide of the human race

Regardless of the path that gets us there, it is clear that the demonic, anti-human globalists in charge of the world are engineering a planetary-scale ethnic cleansing to eliminate human civilization.

Over the next several years — unless they are stopped — they will drive the global population of humans down toward one billion remaining survivors. This will be achieved through a combination of vaccine genocide, nuclear war, mass starvation, biosphere collapse, 5G weaponization, weather weapons, financial collapse, cyber attacks and of course ongoing psychological trauma from the globalist-run corporate media. VAX PURGE CONTINUES: US Army Officially Begins Dishonorably Discharging Soldiers Who Haven’t Taken T he Experimental Killer Vaccine

Last week, the U.S. Army joined the other branches of the US military in their efforts to purge the ranks of all vaccine dissenters announced the separation of three soldiers who refused to take the experimental jab. This is the first time the military branch has dishonorably discharged soldiers over the mandate.

Also included in this initial round of cuts were six Army leaders who were stripped of their ranks, including two battalion commanders. There were also over 3,250 citations handed out to soldiers who are still refusing to comply with the mandate, according to a US Army statement released on March 18th.

Dishonorable discharges are expected to ramp up over the coming weeks as the military brass look to finally enforce the mandate after months of it being in place.

As of the latest publicly available information, there are thousands of soldiers in the Army alone that have not taken the experimental vaccine as of yet. In all, there are already over 2,600 troops who refuse to take the vaccine under any circumstances and thousands more who have applied for medical and religious exemptions. However, the Army has only granted a total of 9 exemptions in total since Biden announced the mandates, so receiving one is more than a longshot.

The Army has been the slowest of all five US Military branches to begin punishing troops over their compliance with the vaccine rules. In the other branches, they have been kicking out dissenters for months with thousands of world-class soldiers being forced out of the ranks across the board.

Former BlackRock advisor says Pfizer colluded with FDA to hide data that shows COVID “vaccine ” clinical trials FAILED

Investment advisor Edward Dowd, who used to work for BlackRock, told Naomi Wolf in a recent interview that pharmaceutical giant Pfizer colluded with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to hide unfavorable clinical trial data showing that the Pfizer-BioNTech Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) “vaccine” is not safe and effective.

As the truth comes out, Dowd said, investors are pulling out of COVID jab manufacturer stocks, which include not just Pfizer but also Moderna and others.

From 2002 to 2012, just to give you a background into his expertise on the subject, Dowd grew BlackRock’s growth strategy from $2 billion to $14 billion.

After being introduced by Wolf as a “courageous, well-informed whistleblower,” Dowd proceeded to explain how his initial concerns about taking the experimental injections himself led him down a research path that uncovered major fraud and corruption.

“I learned from a friend in the biotech industry that Pfizer had failed its all-cause mortality endpoint in the initial trial,” Dowd said. “All-cause mortality is the gold standard in any drug trial at the FDA. When you fail that endpoint, the drug is not approved.”

When Big Pharma and the FDA both expressed unwillingness to release any safety data for the injections, Dowd grew even more skeptical about them. This compelled him to come out publicly to reveal his discoveries.

“I got [louder] about fraud when the FDA decided to hide the clinical data for 75 years,” Dowd explained.

“I’m an investor, so let me just say how I think about the world. I don’t wait for people to tell me what just happened. My job was to come up with an analysis, mosaic and investment thesis, and then over time I’d be proven right.”

“So, I don’t wait for the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal or the Washington Post to tell me anything. Because by the time that happens, the opportunity to make money is lost. So, I started screaming fraud as soon as I saw that – because it’s unprecedented to hide data from the public.”
Global economy is about to go up in flames

Earlier in the year, Dowd also spoke with Steve Bannon about the impending global debt bubble collapse, declaring that “we’re at the end.”

Pfizer and Moderna, Dowd revealed during that appearance, are modern-day versions of Enron in that they are both inherently fraudulent companies.

“I also have a thesis as to what is going on at Pfizer and Moderna, and how those companies are probably fraudulent,” Dowd said at that time. “These vaccines were pushed through and I think the clinical trial data is fraud.”

“I want to liken what’s gone on here to what happened during the great financial crisis. We had rating agencies, third-party verification sources that were able to perpetuate the fraud because the money got too big. Their institutions became corrupted with the institutional imperative and they got AAA ratings, which we all know in hindsight those were not AAA ratings.”

Dowd said that many on Wall Street are listening to him, albeit fearfully, because they know he knows what he is talking about. Many of them are also fully jabbed, and are now concerned about the long-term health effects of what they have done to their bodies.

The mass evacuation of civilians that was possible after the outskirts and several regions of Mariupol were liberated from the Ukrainian militants pose a big threat for the Ukrainian nationalists, as the victims are now testifying on numerous war crimes committed by the Azov members. The liberation of the city is now the main task for the DPR units because those civilians who are still in hostage in Mariupol may be murdered by the nationalists.

Science papers now subject to extreme censorship if they question the “official” narrative on anything: COVID, AIDS, vaccines, climate, virology and more

The “moderators” at Cornell University‘s arXiv server, an open-access archive and free distribution service for scientific material, have been censoring scientific studies that they claim contain “inflammatory content and unprofessional language.”

A “preprint server” for preliminary versions of scientific studies that are moderated but not yet peer-reviewed or published, arXiv is supposed to be neutral when it comes to what gets published. The reality, however, is that arXiv is selectively censoring studies and even banning scientists for publishing work with “controversial” viewpoints.

In one instance, researchers tried to publish a study presenting an opposing viewpoint to another study about room temperature superconductivity. Those researchers aligned with the opposing point of view study are reportedly now “in hot water” on arXiv for daring to buck the “consensus.”

The server also proceeded to ban University of California San Diego (UCSD) theoretical physicist Jorge Hirsch from posting anything on the platform for six months as punishment for his conflicting viewpoints.

“Hirsch was the author of a number of the papers that sought to represent a different point of view on a particular topic – from a paper published in October 2020 in Nature, authored by a team led by University of Rochester physicist Ranga Dias,” reported Reclaim the Net.

“As scientists do, Hirsch was skeptical of the results of the study and asked for raw data from Dias, some of which was, after many rejections, eventually provided by a co-author. The relationship between the scientists soured, and it became evident in their subsequent papers.”

Hirsch would go on to produce two papers of his own based on the data, only to have both of them blocked by arXiv administrators, who also removed another one by Dias. Many studies have also been retracted due to fake peer reviews.

“The explanation for the latter was ‘inflammatory content’ and bad language – but Hirsch says both he and Dias should not be prevented from publishing papers, since that means preventing scientists from working,” Reclaim the Net added.

“Hirsch thinks the bans and removals are ‘very unfair’ and has called on arXiv not to put its ‘arbitrary self-righteous decorum standards’ above scientists’ right to conduct unstifled debate and have their arguments ‘judged on their merits.’”
How much published “science” is actually real science?

In its defense, arXiv, which hosts over two million preprints, and its 200 moderators say that censorship is necessary to ensure that only papers with the “correct” conclusions get published.

“If we allow this stuff, what is the difference between arXiv and Twitter?” asked University of Oxford physicist Paul Fendley, who sits on arXiv’s advisory committee.

Concerning fraudulent peer reviews and other problematic elements of modern “science,” Dr. Marcia Angell, M.D., gave a lecture unpacking how special interests tamper with “science” to ensure that only certain narratives go public.

Angell attended Harvard Medical School and is a retired editor-in-chief of The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM). She has been blowing the whistle on this subject for many years, even when it was unpopular and “conspiratorial” to do so.

“Science these days is more about the art of lying than about verifiable truth and facts,” wrote someone at Natural News.

“So much for the belief in peer review and the honesty and integrity of journals,” expressed another.

As for arXiv, that repository is following in the footsteps of Big Tech by flat-out censoring “controversial” science while apparently propping up status quo pseudoscience.

It means that farmers are being paid millions of pounds not to grow any food but to allow good farmland to become full of weeds; overgrown with nettles, brambles, dock and ragwort.

And the farmer sits at home watching the television.

The Government sends him huge cheques for doing nothing.

(Actually, to be accurate, there aren’t many real farmers anymore. Most farms are now owned by investment bankers and hedge fund managers who, when they’re not being paid to allow their fields to become overgrown with weeds, fill them with windmills and solar panels.)

The Saudis want even more support for their intervention in the war in Yemen and they’re probably going to get it because that war is politically acceptable because, well it just is and it isn’t useful in the way that the Russia-Ukraine war is helping drive us on towards the Great Reset.

And because there are clearly going to be a lot more wars now, the conspirators are insisting that we spend more on defence.

At the moment the UK spends 2% on defence. The plan is to increase that to the 5% we spent on defence during the Cold War. The billionaires who make bullets and tanks are going to make gazillions. Of course, if you spend extra billions on defence there won’t be money for health or education. But that’s the plan, isn’t it?

And everyone is wondering where the Chinese stand these days. Whose side are they on? Are they with the Russians? What’s their view on the global warming myth?

Well, I can tell you that the Chinese are building loads of wonderful new coal fired power stations. They have their own coal mines and by a very fortunate coincidence they managed to hoard just about everything else last autumn. China now has 84% of the world’s copper reserves, 70% of the world’s corn and 57% of the world’s wheat. Wasn’t that lucky? It’s almost as if they knew what was going to happen…

By trying to cut Russia off from the world money supply, the conspirators have made everything infinitely worse. Russia will now continue to stockpile crops, metals and oil. The stuff that isn’t in China will be in Russia.

Meanwhile, the maniacs in the World Economic Forum want to kill off everyone who doesn’t look like Sir Klaus Schwab (knighted by Queen Elizabeth for services to conspiracy, let me remind you).

And by a lucky coincidence they are going to get their way because around a third of the world’s barley, wheat and maize exports come from Russia and Ukraine so hundreds of millions of people in Africa won’t get any food to eat and so they will die.

There are multiple reports coming in from all directions indicating the war for control of the planet earth, one that has been literally raging for thousands of years, is coming to an end. Anyway, let us now look at the current state of the battle to liberate humanity. Here, the biggest move last week was an Anglo-German peace proposal made to Russia last week, according to MI6 and German intelligence sources. The proposal calls for a return to the pre-1914 borders of Germany. It also proposes using the Dneiper river (see map below) as the de-facto border between Eastern and Western Europe.

This was the Russian FSB’s reply to this proposal:

“[Russian President Vladimir] Putin intends to break down the EU into two parts, unite the Slavonic nations and bring an end to NATO. It has been used by the US as an attacking and not a peacekeeping force.

France and Germany should support this, otherwise they will not get a gas supply.”

In other words, the Russians want to resurrect a version of Yugoslavia and take Bulgaria out of NATO.

Delta Force and other units of the Armed Forces special operations community brazenly seized a major Deep State stronghold that was home to the criminal Biden regime’s gestapo police force, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and its not-so-secret headquarters in Virginia.

The cornerstone of FEMA’s secret world sits nestled in the sprawling Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, less than fifty miles from Washington.  It has served as the shadow government’s primary emergency hideaway since the 1950s. Beneath the mountain lays a sprawling labyrinth of tunnels, corridors, and chambers from where the Deep State plotted to enslave law-abiding American citizens.

It includes all the amenities and life-support systems of a top-of-the-line bunker. Helicopter landing pads and a sewage treatment plant crowned the mountain, but underneath was where the real facility existed, with underground reservoirs for both drinking water and cooling needs, diesel generators, a hospital, radio and television broadcast facilities, cafeterias, and its own fire department and police force. Some 800 blue mesh hammocks sat ready for evacuated personnel, who would sleep in shifts throughout the day. Plastic flowers dotted the tables in the cafeteria.

Behind its 13-ton blast doors, a labyrinth of twisting corridors descended to the depths of the Earth. The bunker was designed to shelter hundreds of officials for up to five years. The facility’s kitchens were prepared to serve 3,000 meals/day and their walk-in freezers doubled as a morgue; frozen vegies and cadavers shelved side-by-side.

Mount Weather is also home to the nation’s primary “Emergency Broadcast System,” or EBS, transmitter, a computer network capable of interrupting every type of communication from cellular phones to cable television to internet backbones. In essence, the national EBS is a more powerful and sophisticated version of emergency transmitters such as the Amber Alert System and the emergency messaging system used by the National Weather Service.

Seizing control of the EBS was Delta Force’s primary objective, a high-ranking military source told RRN.

Although he refused to provide specific operational details, he did say that a Delta Force operator under deep cover had infiltrated FEMA’s ranks in a yearlong undercover assignment that ended with him insinuating himself into the FEMA hierarchy and befriending regional supervisors. He eventually reached a position that gave him access to the blast doors, Mt. Weather’s only means of ingress. He did not, however, have access to the EBS, which sits in a room behind doors that require both fingerprint and retinal scans to enter.

“While undercover he learned that one FEMA agent on site always has access to the EBS, just in case. On a normal day there’s damn near 100 agents at Weather, but he also learned FEMA was planning a training seminar in Louisiana and most staff would there, leaving only a skeleton crew of 20 agents to guard the mountain. He was able to open the blast doors to let Delta Force in,” our source said.

On Tuesday, 15 March, an unknown number of Delta Force Operators and U.S. Army soldiers from the 75th Ranger Regiment stormed Mount Weather and met resistance almost immediately after penetrating the subsurface. A blazing gunfight ensued, with FEMA agents drawing their sidearms and emptying the magazines. But Delta Force had taken cover and returned fire, killing 6 agents within mere seconds.

“The Operators assumed whoever had access to the EBS would not take part in the firefight. Fortunately, they were correct,” our source said.

Outgunned as they were caught by surprise and unable to reach Mount Weather’s armory of assault rifles, FEMA surrendered after suffering 12 fatalities. Two Delta Force were shot, but their injuries are not life threatening, our source said.

One by one Delta Force operators grabbed the surviving FEMA agents and compelled them to place their thumbs and eyes against the scanners protecting the EBS room. Eventually, one agent’s thumb and eye opened the door, the gateway to what the military has called a ‘high value target.’

Meanwhile, a company of elite soldiers (we have been asked not to reveal the branch or unit) descended on Mount Weather by air and by land, rappelling from hovering helicopters and dismounting from a dozen Hummers, after receiving word that the operation was a success. In all, 150 U.S. soldiers loyal to the “White Hat” movement secured Mount Weather, changed access codes, and sealed the blast doors.

When FEMA returned, agents found themselves in a helpless quandary.

“The military now controls the mountain. The doors are impregnable. This mission was a long time in the making, and now we control the EBS. Stay tuned—a message may be coming very soon,” our source said.
