Okay, for you newbies out there, I will try and explain one of the basics while trying to keep it "basic". This is from the "Healer's Handbook" but I am rewording it somewhat so as not to step on anyone's toes. :D Here goes:
The brain is divided into two halves - the left side is the "logic" side (your ego, material and logical or earthly thoughts come from here. The right side is where you creative, spiritual and emotion are from. There is a small "gland" in the center of your brain called a "pineal gland." This gland acts as a balance, and provides harmony and grounding.
First, take a couple of deep, cleansing breaths (in through your nose, hold a few seconds, then blow out through your mouth). Close your eyes and focus on a point in the center of your forehead (between your eyes). After a few seconds (may take longer), you will begin to see an archetype (it may be faint). There are 3 T-bar archetypes that can be seen depending on your genetic make-up: the capitol "T", the small "t" or cross, or the ankh, a t with a loop on top of it. (Some people may have more than one of these.) All the shapes function the same way - none is better than the other. As you look at your shape, make sure that the bars are straight and perpendicular to one another. If they look crooked or twisted, mentally straighten them. After they are straight, press an imaginary button to "set" it into place.
You should balance your t-bar every morning and night. If for some reason you can not see your t-bar, you can imagine a royal blue (the color of your pineal area) circle with a dot in the center. Center the dot inside the circle. This has the same effect as balancing your t-bar.
This exercise should help keep you balanced throughout your day. It can also help heal, and correct your mind-patterns.
Good Luck.
