Cinnamon and Honey the Miracle cure
#21
Yes Sily,

That is the same stuff we used to buy from Sam's. I'm glad that you were given a good bill of health, but I was just told that I have kidney damage, so I am not going to take any chances - especially after what I read. It's better to be safe than sorry, right?

As for the Willy Wonka movie...I don't remember that part. I am going to have to watch it again to see what you are talking about. :)

Dreamtime -- do you believe the kidney damage is a result of the pills sold at Sam's?  Who diagnosed you with kidney damage - was it your family doctor, Stewart, a shaman, family friend, ER doc, self?

And if it's not too personal -- what signs or symptoms of kidney damage did you have?

I think this is important because I believe (but not totally sure yet from your post above) that you are saying the pills from Sam's gave you kidney damage.  Do you realize that could affect millions of shoppers at Sam's that buy those pills?

WHOOPS - just a few more questions: how long have you been taking the cinnamon from Sam's?  Were you taking just the two capsules as recommended on the bottle or more capsules?

If any of the questions above are too nosey just reply in PM or not at all.  Because this is a very public board and I'm sure not going to answer any questions I don't want to answer!   icon_lupe

Go here and at 43 seconds you'll see.  A puff of cinnamon smoke came out of my mouth just like that, over the breakfast table.

It was Mike Tee-Vee who puffs the smoke not an Oompa-Loompa.  I swear I thought it was an Oompa-Loompa!

Thanks for that Willy Wonka flash-back, Sily.

As for the cinnamon, I think I misunderstood you or actually misread what the link you posted was (my bad). It was not capsules that I took but the actual cinnamon. And I am pretty sure it was not the cinnamon that did any harm to my kidneys (though I can not be absolutely positive). My damage came from chronic high blood pressure (or so the doctor thinks). Hopefully it isn't really bad yet and I can turn it around real easily - at least that is what I am going for. But...I just don't want to add anything else to them that could possibly harm them - know what I mean?

Very interesting topic, and some very helpful info from everyone, can I add that you should be cautious to what you are taking with your cinnamon; coffee and supplements really are a no no! When taking any supplements with coffee, it can create a reaction in your body whilst traveling down to the stomach.
Not just cinnamon but certain chemical break downs are known to begin reflux, Gert and stomach ulcers.
It is wise to understand the ingredients of the supplements because some react with others once they reach the acid in the stomach. There are many books out there that describe in detail the chemical cocktail of mixing herbs and supplements.

Marting, the best honey is straight from a small hive farmer, they are out there, buying honey from the store will give a 99.9% chance that the honey has been laced with glucose, syrup or some other additive to create more ‘volume less product’.
Honey is the only substance in the world that never goes off, and if your honey is getting a crust, then it has additives!
One large spoon of honey straight from the tub everyday is all you need to keep the immune system in good running order.

I think this cinnamon and honey cure might not work for losing weight like they say. I gained 10 lbs after I quit smoking and I’ve been trying to lose it but nothing is working so far. I’ve been taking Now brand Ceylon cinnamon capsules.

Drinking Dilmah brand green tea with Ceylon cinnamon.

Drinking Choice brand Oolong tea because Oprah and others claim it promotes weight loss.

I use natural local honey too.

So I don’t know what the story is but I wouldn’t recommend this for losing weight. :X

I researched what other people were saying about cinnamon and honey for weight loss and it sounds like people have the best results with raw unfiltered honey. So I’ll have to try that and see how it goes. :)

I chew on cinnamon sticks almost daily. They are quite enjoyable. Honey is also an almost daily part of my eating habits. Interesting topic. I wonder what kinds of honey are optimal?

My dad takes royal jelly and bee pollen as part of his daily, and he is very healthy considering other factors in his life.

Raw unfiltered local honey is the best if you have allergies and asthma.

If you can’t find local honey, there is a brand called Y.S. Organic that is very good and available at most health food stores.
