It depends on what kind of energy is being channeled and what the energy is doing to the person receiving it.  The two terms you mentioned could loosely be considered the same.  There is so much variation in methods people use and what they call them nowadays.  There really are people who can do hands on spiritual healings.  Perhaps that term could be used generically.  FWIW.

Yes, it is confusing if you are just finding out about these things.  You must be careful what you buy into because all is not as it seems and one person will tell you a specific modality is good while another will tell you it's not good.  When I responded to you the first time I was thinking that people who practice what is called Reiki do not touch the body but hold their hands over the chakras so it is not really "hands on."  What are you looking for?
