I don't buy into anything that has had a formalized system of adherents teaching about it for many years, this always corrupts the teachings in some way.  as far as "choosing a system to adhere to" ... I would prefer not to.

Probably like the Public Fool System where you are forced fed knowledge and can not think for yourself nor do they encourage you to develop critical thinking and never accept whether what the teacher has told you is true until you have sufficiently researched and investigated it yourself of whether what the teacher spoke to you is true or a big fat lie filled with BS and an agenda.

My understanding of the Lama Tibetan Buddhist method is that they choose the the cream of crop so to speak after they have tested each candiate to determine if he is dull minded or does he have a sharp mind and can he think on his own and do the work and investigate for himself what methods we have shown him or the direction we have pointed him to look for his answers. The so called Tibetan Buddhist teachers don't teach anything since it can not be taught to the person he has to investigate this himself to acquire a deeper understand and knowledge of the subject matter the direction the teacher pointed him to begin his investigation in his search for the truth that he can confirm or not for himself. Over time they have worked at the bugs in their methods via trial and error. The buddha dude never taught any knowledge in such away that it would change a person by hearing it he taught them the methods to investigate themselves of whether what he was saying to his disciples or students was true or not and he never expected people to believe him until they were convinced themselves of whether what he said is true or not.

Its your choice no one said you have to follow a teacher student model you can self teach yourself but it will be slow and a lot of trial and error. Or if you think that you will be easily brainwashed by such a system then you are a dull minded person since they would never bother with you or you would be a waste of their time and you would be to lazy to ever investigate for yourself by freely using your mind using the methods that the teachers would have taught you to help you begin your own investigations and self discoveries on your own.

Of all systems Buddhism is the most attractive to me, for sure.   I really like Ram Dass, and read one of his books early in life.  And I do meditate daily.

You might find this interesting:  I worked with a Chinese girl once.  One time the Dali Lama was coming to town to give a speech at a university.  I mentioned this to her and she sort of scowled about it, saying "He is a bad man who politicizes religion".    I didn't respond to it, I just had to keep in mind that she was basically fresh off the boat from china and still pretty much brainwashed.  It was spooky.  She was  a nice lass, otherwise.

The concept and teachings of Buddhism has since went down hill and become polluted with other ideals to make it more agreeable to peoples life styles or their way of thinking typical of most religions does it make you feel better about yourself or is it agreeable to you.

Although Protestant Christianity is a derivative of the Roman Catholic church it just they striped most of the ritual and things of the catholic church like the Nun Rosary AKA Buddhist prayer beads same deal and Buddhist lighting of candles, the holy water or charged water from Occult schools and lot more stuff the Roman Catholic church seem to embody beside their boring services of ritual with the cannibalistic rituals of the easting of the Blood like the wine and body the bread. Mainstays of various allowed shrines of worship along with worship of the Roman Caesar AKA the Pope in Rome at the time.

Christians also believe we are created once and then we die to be judged and if we make it other then going to hell AKA Buddhist Karmic illusory realities which are temporal will be in heaven if there was one their be a lot of Assholes in heaven. Why would anyone play the kind of game you can only play once if a game developer developed a game and say hey people our games can only be played once no one would buy their game if you die that it people no respawing in our game. That also the way we exist in a conditioned way of our existence as being connected to everything in this illusory matrix but when we die and leave our body but due to our cravings to exist and try a different approach which by the way is called insanity we will do it again in another body with a new personality plus added in with some of our traits, tendency and attributes from out previous life and new parents would wonder well I guess god created him that way with the way he acts. If you have ever played an online game where you and other peoples character die and respawn a thousand times giving you a chance to try a different approach but no one in these games really win its all an illusion to keep the game interesting and player immersed where they would not question it but some may think boy this game is a grind so whats the point in playing it but to the wise they would think people are crazy or insane for people to play even begin playing this game they say it is completely insane and crazy to them since no one wins these games it all an illusion.

I am just at the point in my life that I do a lot of contemplation and thinking that is hard critical thinking about things in life and this illusory reality kind of my theory or opinion on everything.

Thanks sovereign for taking the time to share.  Im pretty much in agreement, everything seems like a mind fu*k attempt.  I keep thinking of the Blade runner book where everyone was plugged into a simulation where they were going up a difficult hill with rocks being thrown on them the whole time, but at least they were "All in it together".

Oh and androids would not laugh at three stooges movies, or internet video shows of people getting hit in the nuts on their skateboards, and we do see people who are above "that type" of entertainment too.....

AKA It's the blind leading the blind.  Kids quickly are supposed to break into groups and "figure it out then discuss amongst themselves." Teachers are getting admonished for presenting their lectures the way they used to...you know, the subject they got their masters in, god forbid the kids get to hear a lecture.
