Soul Talk

warbler Wrote:  You can’t control people who have their souls intact and if there was anything my parents did not like, it was people they couldn’t control.

I’ve always thought that those who abuse and/or take advantage of others have lost their souls, or at the very least have damaged souls, but I thought it in a figurative sense. Not thinking that way now. I think soul loss, soul damage, is literal. And, in the case of my brother John, I’d be more likely to say his soul was ripped or squeezed out of him than to say he lost it. I’d say that because I saw how John was treated, starting as a very little child, and even though I was treated just as badly, for some reason I had an extra something that made me not give up, not surrender to the insanity and lies that ruled. And, I am not excusing John’s behaviors. Just saying that for a child like John to grow up as he did, I don’t see how he could have possibly turned out any differently than he has.

Question now, why was the real thing too much for them? I don't know
An excellent question to explore Warbler to be sure.  Maybe ask again just before sleep.

The expression--he's got a hole in his soul?  Or could be that the soul is misplaced, but it can't be far from reach--even if it was stolen---there will always be a connection while the body lives.  It can be so distorted to be unrecognizable, but a call, a shout, a prayer is the first step in finding it.

One thing that I know about is that as a female you are the stronger in that soul connection.  Your brother John was not as strong as you because men being born of the female body have a stronger need of the mother as infants and all through development--hence Mama's boy. Mother's of both boys and girls that breast feed will tell you that the boys are more attached to the breast, need to nurse more often and longer.  It is a fact statistically that of preterm infants females are stronger and thrive and survive better than boys.

(Also, JB was also abandoned at a tender age by his mother, spent time growing up in a whorehouse--not an underdog--hmm)  Glad you like the the "hot tub"--like I said such an easy target--that one)Cool

This is the biggest load of bull I've read here since returning. And that says a lot. Stop projecting your unresolved issues onto me. Your ridiculous reply and pathetic attempt to give me the metaphorical finger just shows that age does not make any wiser, more lucid, and certainly not any brighter. One cannot grow what's not there.

Quote:I tend to stick up for the underdog so I just had to defend JB cause he is such an easy target!  Not a wise move on my part, I admit.  If you truly want to turn the page, quit trying to prove to me who you are not.  I don't care if you don't like the labels that I used or my choice of words or my choice of soul tunes.
JB was no underdog. You're mixing things up here. Other than that I don't have any 'desire to prove something' to you. I couldn't care less. I don't care what you think. I do not agree with how you seem to 'perceive' me - but if that's your p.o.v be my guest and piss some more into your pants laughing - stupidity betrays itself with such childish comments.

Quote:If you want to keep going, let's take it to a pm before Richard has to time us out?
How old are you? 5? Just listen to yourself. Who's asking for it here? Grow up.

I've no desire to continue talking to you, bueno?

If you want to 'fight' with somebody then go find somebody else, I am not interested. Or better yet, go play with your toes. Maybe that'll make you laugh, too, given you don't seem to need much to 'trigger' you.

And back off.

Good bye.

Whew!   Now that the BULL IN THE CHINA SHOP has her last charge around before leaving the area, maybe we can get back to some more 'soul talk.'

You're so predictable - your childish reply says it all.

This is a really good thread about soul talk. It is not necessary for members to agree with each other. Opinions are just opinions, not fact, therefore personal atacks have no purpose.

I am enjoying the posts of all of you. I may not agree with everyone, but I like to read other opinions and consider them. Sometimes I even learn new things. :)

I, for one, would like to get back to soul talk.

Yes, thank you Blue Moon.

Music... I love music... I used to say that even if I'm blind or deaf music can still reach me... Beethoven created his most incredible music when he was already deaf - but he could 'hear' inwardly ... because he was connected to something beyond his physical Self... When you're deaf, the beat of drums can still resonate with your heart...and keep you alive...

Wow, xanthas, I've never seen anything like that. Mesmerizing! At first I kept thinking they should put the drums lower for the shorter gal but then saw it didn't seem to make any difference to her abilities.

And, curious the things one notices ...  but would this have been as interesting if all four musicians were the same height and wore the same outfit? I don't think so. :)

Words of wisdom. Much appreciated.

Now, (laughing, and  kidding too) but could you please talk to some of the people in my family and explain the difference between facts and opinions! Some of them think that whatever they think is true. And tee hee, that's a fact. icon_wink

Here’s some ‘soul talk” I found by doing a HC search of “soul.” It’s a quote by Q3eory. Location is posted below.

“Solus (soul) is a term coined by "St'" Jerome, Constantine's translator, to mean "that which only God and Man share"- it literally means "only", one, or singular.
This word is a curse on mankind for all the confusion it has spawned!

The supposed definition of "soul" clearly describes Spirit, while the sound of it is directly related to the term "Suld", which Shamans use to describe the emotional experience of life- the joy and pain and hope and desire and satisfaction of living in a body.”

Glad you liked the video Warbler. I did a bit searching for one that was a complete set and had good picture quality as well. Yes, the women drummers are quite unique to that part of Asia. Japan has their Geishas (alas, the truly trained and highly skilled are a dying breed), the Chinese women had their feet bound, but Korean women have never had to suffer this ordeal. The drumming is quite interesting (three drums) and there are women dances with hourglass drums. It's quite powerful but at the same they combine it with female grace and genuine elegance as they dance and drum at the same time.

The Soul has so many ways in which it expresses itself, but when it is suppressed it turns into depression and also often, despair. A light that is continuously snuffed out will try in vain to defend itself but more often than not, in a self-destructive fashion. The precarious challenge of bringing together one's true Spirit (Soul's yearning) and merge it harmoniously with our physical existence called 'life' is often laced with obstacles, drawbacks and seemingly impossible hurdles we can't ever seem to overcome...

And yet, sometimes, when we do take the time to turn inward and listen to the silent, inaudible whisper, in our dreams, or daydreams, or something someone says, flashbacks or a movie, a process may unfold, nudging us in the right direction to bring us a bit closer to who and what our Soul (as individualised Spirit molecules...) would like us to be: at home with ourselves, 'settled' in our heart, 'knowing' that even if we sometimes make mistakes and may err for a little bit in the wrong direction, eventually, the path is no longer just dark and obscure, but becomes filled with more lucidity and clarity, helping us to better know where to put our foot with more certainty for the next step we are about to take, more self-assured and focused and maybe even filled with purpose. The journey is at once a way back to our real 'home' as well as a preparation for the 'thereafter', odd and paradoxical as that may sound.

Music is one of the biggest emotional connections to our Soul - songs from our childhood can take us back (as do smells), or at certain stages of our life - they act like signposts of where we were at a certain moment in our life, and, our evolution. And sometimes, they can help us to recognise that we moved on, and left a certain part of our old selves behind, as well we may have needed to in order to progress, like the snake's shedding of old skin (I'm not talking in biblical terms here, solely metaphorical).

As that other music video by John Miles puts it so aptly: "Music of the future, music of the past." Moving backwards while moving forwards, the perfect oxymoron of the Soul's journey, the circle closing.
