Lucky Paris Hilton. The Los Angeles chief of jails has stated that Paris Hilton may not have to serve all 45 of her days in jail for violating her probation due to overcrowded conditions in the county facility.

According to a news story aired on Phoenix's local Channel 3 (KTVK), however, Sheriff Joe Arpaio has offered to come to the rescue of Los Angeles County and Paris Hilton may not get off the hook so easily. The itinerant sheriff of Maricopa County has volunteered to house Hilton here at his infamous "tent city", the outdoor jail where convicted wrongdoers of Phoenix spend their time. According to Arpaio, Los Angeles County is seriously considering his offer but Hilton's lawyers will most likely not let such a change of venue be imposed without objection.

Not only do the Sheriff Joe's wards have to spend their terms outside in tents, but they are required to wear pink underwear and socks and use pink towels and sheets and a bologna sandwich is on each day's lunch menu. Of course, we all know Paris is quite fond of the color pink. Perhaps she won't object too strenuously to that requirement. But daytime temperatures in summer in Phoenix regularly reach the triple digits with highs up to 115 degrees common. Now that might leave Paris feeling just a bit punky. Sheriff Joe is known, as well, for being fond of animals and his prisoners are caretakers to the animals of Maricopa County that are seized due to abuse or neglect. Perhaps Paris' little purse pooch can accompany her to Tent City.

Azfamily.com, KTVK's online news site, quotes Sheriff Joe as saying, "Oh, I'd love to have her here. Just another celebrity. Not that I'm a publicity hound, but I'd imagine if I had her in these tents there'd be (publicity)."

Arpaio's statement is obviously tongue in cheek. Never in the history of Arizona has one man garnered so much publicity from his term as Sheriff of Maricopa County. Since his election to the office of sheriff in 1993, Arpaio has made a name for himself as "America's Toughest Sheriff" and has been prominently featured in thousands of US and foreign newspapers, magazines and television programs. The UK's BBC, in particular, seems to have developed a fascination for the publicity-hungry Arpaio and spent some time her following him around and even extended a special invitation for him to come visit their country at any time for a guided tour.

Should Sheriff Joe be allowed to incarcerate Paris Hilton in his tent city jail, it will be a match made in heaven - the young fashion maven who need do nothing more than show up somewhere for it to be reported in media across the United States and America's Toughest Sheriff, who makes it a point to keep himself in the media spotlight so he can rack up self-promotion points. Besides, Paris looks great in pink.

btw... I find her to be the ugliest sex symbol this world has ever seen.

She looks sick from dieting...others may call it anorexic. Her face looks somewhat distorted, her nose looks broken, her eyes always look like she's on a high dose of Valium, she even corrupted BritneySpears lol... and the list goes on.

If she was unknown, I doubt many would even look at her in the street, let alone admire her as a new age sex bomb. Paris a sex bomb?LOLOL It'd be sad if it weren't so funny.

I was surprised that Paris’s case even made it to court. I would have thought with the Hilton’s money and power that the case would have gotten swept under the rug. It makes me think there’s a hidden agenda at play here. You may be right that she doesn’t do any time. We’ll have to see how it unfolds.

I agree with you about her being an ugly sex symbol. I don’t know why some guys go gaga over her. I saw in the news that Lindsay just beat Paris as the hottest starlet. I imagine Paris isn’t too happy about that either. icon_lol

Move on over Paris Hilton and Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan has been confirmed the hottest woman in the world, according to Maxim Magazine. Lindsey has topped number one on the list of 100 famous Hollywood starlets. Who would have ever known that this too cute bubbly girl who played in The Parent Trap back in 1998 would be named the hottest woman alive?

At only 20 years old, Lohan sure has caused a stir amongst her fans and the public throughout Hollywood. With all of her late night partying and her high society profile, no wonder all of the men think she's hot stuff. She certainly must have some money in her pocket with all of her movies listed on her resume that go back to 1998 and perhaps maybe even some small roles before that. We've had our laughs with her in Freaky Friday back in 2004, and got to see do some serious racing in Herbie Fully Loaded in 2005. What man wouldn't obsess over a rich pretty woman racing in a car?

And even with Paris Hilton's high public profile, Lohan has seemed to beat her in the race as well. Perhaps it's not all about fame and fortune, and with Paris's recent DUI on her record, perhaps all of the men might be a little scared to be driving in the same car as her. Lindsay Lohan seems to have the fresh young look that the men of the 21st century are after. Her luscious long red locks and her bikini wear she sports out on the beaches; have men's mouths watering in all of her directions. Why, most of them are just wondering what she will do next, and what party she is going to. And most important-who will she be with at that party?

Along with Lohan being number one on the list is Jessica Alba at number 2 and Scarlett Johansson at number three. Angelina Jolie and Beyonce Knowles still follow along with her in the top ten. You had to read on just a bit farther down the list to find Jessica Simpson who was listed at number forty one while has sister Ashley came in before her at number sixteen. It seems as if the men who read and voted for Maxims list all prefer the younger starlets above some of the older ones who have been in the starlight for awhile. The ones who are out in the public profile hitting up the party scenes, gracing the magazine covers, or the ones with that special charm seem to be catching the eyes of guys all of the world.

Of course, it could be a possibility that Lohan's partying might have not gotten her to the top of Maxim's 100 hottest women list. It could be that she is smart, witty, and charming, and that she is truly talented. She has been acting since she was a child, and which man wouldn't think that she was hot? After-all Lohan is an independent working lady with the looks to prove it-what man wouldn't turn away from that?

I think she will serve time because there's too much money to be made on this spectacle.

I think Lindsey is good looking and beats Paris by a mile. There aren’t many stars that do appeal to me, so off hand I can’t think of many. Off the top of my head I would say Billie Piper is a hot. She played Rose Tyler on Dr. Who.

I heard on the news today that California is not going to accept Arizona's offer to house Paris in 'Tent City.' Guess they thought that she would never survive that one. From what I hear, that warden is real 'hard-nosed' and would not give her ANY concessions. Probably though, California doesn't want to piss off the Hiltons too much. LOL

They reduced Paris’s sentence to 23 days in a special needs housing unit. They gave her time off for good behavior for showing up to court. I’m getting the feeling that they’ll keep reducing the time until it’s a matter of hours like that actress from Lost.
 
Paris Hilton's Jail Term Reduced to 23 Days

Paris Hilton's jail term was cut down from a 45-day jail sentence to about 23 days, according to MTV news.

Hilton will only have to spend about 23 days in a "special needs housing unit" at the Century Regional Detention Center, located in suburban Lynwood, according to Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore.

She will be separated from the general inmate population, too, according to authorities.

Jail officials shortened her jail sentence by giving her credit for good behavior. Officials have considered several factors in determining this, including the fact that she appeared for her latest court date.

Hilton will stay in a unit of the jail that contains two-person calls that are reserved for high-profile inmates. She will get at least an hour outside of her cell each day to shower, watch TV, make phone calls, and participate in any outdoor recreation.

The jail holds 2,200 inmates at a time.

The 26-year-old Hilton was sentenced to jail this month for violating the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case. A judge ordered her to report to jail by June 5.

Calls to her lawyer, DUI specialist Richard Hutton, were not returned, and her publicist, Elliot Mintz, declined to make any comments.
